Kaepernick, Mixed race, adopted and loved by white parents, and talented athlete. The perfect example of how to destroy your own career by being an (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*). Relegated himself to the dustbin of history.

Perhaps Kaepernick, Anthony Weiner, and Ryan Lochte will appear together on Dancing With the Stars.

Just another case of suicide by stupidity.

So why should Kap, or any black person or any person at all, who actually loves freedom sing a song that boasts about killing and oppressing people who want to be free? The song lyrics are despicable, which is why singers never sing the whole thing. They just parrot the part that sounds good.

America has the best propaganda in the world but it's all based on pure BS.

There are no widespread wrongs being perpetrated by law enforcement against blacks however, there ARE lies being perpetrated like the 'hand's up don't shoot' mantra-lie that is at the base of Black Lives Matter. Yes, I know there may be a few cases of blacks being wrongly targeted but, by and large, that is not the norm.

If racism against blacks was ubiquitous, there would be no black NFL quarterbacks nor would we have black congressmen or a black President. Don't you think it's time to drop the whole prejudice canard?

HUH? The Star Spangled Banner was written celebrating a victory AGAINST British oppressors. Pick up a history book.

He must be confused with the 'other' national anthem, "Old Black Joe"

I think they were conscientious objectors and a lot of them went into the medical field and saw more war and blood than any soldier and, I'll bet that not one of them would refuse to say the Pledge.

I just wonder how he got that completely false interpretation. Is that what they are teaching these days?

Why should a black person, or any other person who loves freedom, stand for a song that boasts about killing black people and depriving them of freedom?

Can you name some of them. Also I am just curious, what is the difference between someone who is a draft dodger and someone whose family has money to get them out of going to war?

Have you actually ever heard the national anthem being sung?
It certainly doesn't sound like it. Therefore why are you in here clogging and derailing the thread by spreading around your disinformation?

You should move along and stop trolling now.

    Maybe they've been brainwashed?

Is this something that black people should be proud of, of how their ancestors who wanted freedom were hunted down and killed by the Americans who claimed that they loved freedom?

"And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle’s confusion,
A home and a country should leave us no more!
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps’ pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!"
    http://www.usa-flag-site.org/song-lyrics/star-spangled-banner/

So even today, 202 years after that despicable song was written, the mob is ready to lynch any black person who dares say that the country could be better and that it needs to be better if it's ever going to live up to its propaganda about liberty, justice, and equality for all. The song is an insult to everyone who values that idea. It needs to be tossed into the trashcan.

Just because you don't pay attention/don't care doesn't mean the police aren't killing unarmed people every day. Try watching the news or reading about the cases.

And just because you claim it so, doesn't make it so. Your rhetoric doesn't square with the facts.

Last year in 2015, there were about 1,000 citizens shot and killed by police. Studies show 1/4 of them were running AWAY when shot, and literally, one in ten, was completely unarmed.

That is about 1 per day in the country.

The singers only sing the first two verses. No one has the guts to actually sing the whole disgusting song.

    The Star Spangled Banner Lyrics
    By Francis Scott Key 1814

Oh, say can you see by the dawn’s early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight,
O’er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket’s red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe’s haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o’er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning’s first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines in the stream:
‘Tis the star-spangled banner! Oh long may it wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle’s confusion,
A home and a country should leave us no more!
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps’ pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave:

And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war’s desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav’n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: “In God is our trust.”
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
    http://www.usa-flag-site.org/song-lyrics/star-spangled-banner/

The song boasts about killing and terrorizing slaves who dared fight for their freedom like the slaver Key did. And that was national policy for the next 150 years after he wrote the song.

The only trolls here are the people who want to lynch guys like Kap for daring to speak up and to say that the country could do better. And a good place to start is to stop defending a song that boasts about keeping people in slavery and killing them if they dare fight for their freedom and equal rights.

You should learn history before yakking about it.

How anybody could glean "racism" from that is wayyy out there in left field.

These people that misconstrue wording on a regular basis should be sent to reeducation camps! :roflol:
You do realize realize that it was The English harming the indentured servants and slaves? No?
Free Black men in America fought for and against The English.
