I won't smoke it. I have no need too. Now, in the late 60's & early 70's, it was really enjoyable. I'm OK with legalization.
If it were have been legalized during the 1960's or 70's, no way. What made smoking pot fun was that it was illegal. Smoking pot during the counterculture era was a way to say FU to the man and you felt like you were getting away with something. But back in the day when there was a big marijuana bust things dried up and soon the pusherman had no more lids for sale. After week or so you found yourself waking up at the crack of dawn instead at 12 noon. You actually feel like breaking a sweat by getting a full time job and paying taxes. You discover your home is a little cleaner and the cucaracha's have abandoned your home and little Susey Rotten Crotch is still spreading her legs for you without having to get her stoned. And that ten dollars you spent on a lid of grass (1 oz. marijuana) you instead spent on two cases of beer, four packs of smokes and two Big Mac's. Or two pairs of Levis and a six pack of beer and a pack of smokes or a Big Mac.
I would expect some non-smokers to take that title from smokers if there was not some truth to it it really depends I think on your dna and if you actually get stress relief from smoking or not course with the price of smokes, that stress relief benefit may be changing for poorer people as that may add some stress and do not forget the carpet glue anti-smokers mandated be added to all cigarettes to kill them, so some day a non-smoker may take that title .
I love the taste of the stuff, but let's be honest, it makes you apathetic. Those caricatures of the stoners on the couch saying "whatever, dude" are based in reality. I would use it, and even get it illegally if necessary, to give physical comfort to myself or a relative or close friend suffering from an illness.
it's looking like it actually reduces the risk of cancer "New Research Confirms Cannabis Kills Brain Cancer, NOT Your Brain" http://herb.co/2016/07/01/cannabis-treat-brain-cancer/ "Meet The Woman Who Says She Beat Her Lung Cancer With Cannabis Oil" https://www.medicaljane.com/2015/06/11/meet-the-woman-who-beat-her-lung-cancer-with-cannabis-oil/ .
and how about Alcohol... "National Cancer Institute: Alcohol causes cancer" http://herb.co/2016/07/31/national-cancer-institute-shocked/ ...
I haven't looked into the stats on getting lung cancer due to smoking weed alone. I'm sure many of us potheads get lung cancer though. Most of us smoke cigarettes & other tobacco as well.
"A twenty-year study examining marijuana’s effect on lungs suggests it’s healthier than tobacco. " http://www.takepart.com/article/2012/01/11/marijuana-not-bad-your-lungs "Breathe easy, tokers. Smoking marijuana in moderate amounts may not be so bad for your lungs, after all." "In fact, researchers were surprised to find marijuana smokers performed slightly better than both smokers and non-smokers on the lung performance test. Why? The most likely explanation seems to be that the act of inhaling marijuana—holding each puff in for as long as possible—is a lot like a pulmonary function test, giving marijuana smokers an edge over their cigarette smoking counterparts." still if legal, why not eat it vs smoke it..... .
I always found it strange we have laws against suicide. What more can they do to you ? I guess if you fail they can
Not pot Tons of articles there. Some even say it helps cure it. Plus now days most people vape just like tobacco https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=smoking+pot+doesn%27t+cause+lung+cancer I had colon cancer and it sure helped me get through chemo . It gets rid of the nausea and gives you an appetite. I actually gained weight going through it. My Drs asked how i kept up my appetite and when I told them they said good.
Actually it would be difficult to punish a guy who kills himself [or a gal who kills herself, of course!], if we exclude the miracle of resurrection ... The state should impose a tax on suicide: do you want to kill yourself? Are you not enough brave to do it? Pay a tax of 50,000$ and a guy of CIA will kill you without hesitation. Pay the SGTLT [Say Good Bye To Life Tax] and leave the state kill you!
Did some in my misspent youth. Never really cared for it. Wouldn't go out of my way to pay for it. I considered it a gateway drug - to whole milk.
There were no good answers. My answer is "No, it's still against federal law." There haven't been enough studies to say its bad (or good) for you. Also, federally it is legal almost nowhere (there are a few people who have federal prescriptions for it).
I've been smoking pot for decades legal or illegal so what's the difference? It's one of the few things that actually helps with the combat related PTSD symptoms from my service in the Vietnam war and it sucks that the VA can't prescribe it because of the federal prohibition.
I would yes if I lived in those states. Sadly as others have said the South will be the last place to legalize it. We are hopelessly behind the rest of the country. Factor in I live in Texas and yeah.. it's depressing how much oppression there still is in the Southern US.
