Trump kicks biographer off golf course

Ah yes, the hybrid of thin skin, pettiness, and petulant immaturity.


A man who once wrote a biography that was less than adoring regarding Trump was thrown by Trump off of his golf course.

The fellow.was a guest of one of the mega donor Koch brothers.

I do have to wonder if Trump, once president, will continue such bully tactics. I suppose it is one thing to harbor a grudge as a private citizen, but as president, is this the way he will react to.foreign heads of state (except Putin of course) or members of the press who do not mindlessly praise him?

President-elect Donald Trump on Friday ejected from his West Palm Beach golf course one of his most critical biographers, Harry Hurt III, who had been preparing to play in a foursome with billionaire mega-donor David Koch.

Hurt is the author of “Lost Tycoon: The Many Lives of Donald J. Trump,” a 1993 book that revealed among other things that Trump was accused of “rape” by his ex-wife Ivana Trump in a sworn deposition during their divorce proceedings.


Donald Trump has denied the allegation, as well as other parts of the book, and Ivana Trump herself later said that she did not intend for her use of the word “rape” to be interpreted in “a literal or criminal sense.”

On Friday, Hurt approached Trump on the practice tee at Trump International Golf Club, and congratulated him on his victory in last month’s presidential election, according to an account that Hurt posted on Facebook on Saturday.

Trump responded by criticizing Hurt’s biography as untrue, to which Hurt replied “It’s all true,” according to both Hurt’s Facebook post and a transition official who was briefed on the incident, but did not want to be identified discussing a testy exchange involving the president-elect.

Trump told Hurt “you’re out of here,” according to the transition official, while Hurt wrote on Facebook that Trump told him it was “inappropriate” for him to play at the club.

David Koch could not be reached for comment, and the Trump transition team declined to comment.

Hurt told POLITICO in an interview that he approached Trump “out of courtesy and respect for the office of the President of the United States … I support the office of the President of the United States, and I sincerely hope that Donald Trump will look after the interests of the United States with the same passion as he has looked after his business interests

The various accounts given to POLITICO diverge after the initial interaction between Hurt and Trump.

Hurt’s Facebook post says that Trump “had his security detail escort Hurt, Koch, and their playing partners to the parking lot,” and that Koch “was appalled,” and criticized Trump as “petty” and “vulgar.”

Another member of the Hurt-Koch foursome, fellow GOP donor John M. Damgard, told POLITICO that neither he nor Koch were privy to Hurt’s exchange with Trump, and that Hurt didn’t recount it to them in

It's always great to get just one side of the story.

 

Is Trump not allowed to control who is allowed or not allowed on his own property? If your neighbor who you despise wouldn't leave your backyard, what would you do?

Thats the good thing about not being a progressive - you probably own assets, hence you can restrict progressives from using said assets..

This topic, no matter how badly you want it to be, is NOT about Obama.

The topic is threadworthy. It goes to show how petty and childish Orange Man is and will continue to be.

 

Whether one agrees with Trump or not it's his right as the property owner. Personally I don't know enough about the history between the two to come to a conclusion on whether he was justified.

While I don't know if Trump was justified in his actions, I don't have a problem with Trump using his power as a property owner to remove someone he doesn't like. I would have a problem if he used his power as President to remove someone he doesn't like, from a place he doesn't own.

 

I like and respect President Trump more and more every day.

 

Holy crud! Did you pay ANY ATTENTION to what Barack Obama surrounded himself with for eight straight years and how he actually acted as president? He gave new meaning to the term 'brown-nosing yes men." Obama NEVER wants to hear differing opinions about anything. Well guess I'm a dictator and you're a dictator and everyone else who owns property is since we all call the shots on who gets to do what in our own house. Do you actually own property? Finally, a comment that is worth reading.

The guy wasn't fired off Trump's golf course for being a jerk, vandalism etc; he was fired because his opinion once clashed with that of Trump. On this thread, we focus on the legality of the thing: I question its rationality - and my conclusion is that is a pretty petty move, that sends all kind of wrong messages.

You know, when Castro emprisonned opposing political opponents, he was doing it with all the legality of Cuban laws. Without saying that Trump will emprison those who oppose him, it is entirely reasonneable to deduce that he will use against them the very same petty, scorned child tactics, in his diplomatics.

Another thing that's beginning to get me, is how Trump micromanages these seemingly insignificant bits. That smells of obsessive control. Another bad sign.

 

Go Donald. There is no way you are going to make any leftie/socialist happy anyway so..... Continue to drive them nuts.

David Koch, who is a member of Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, had the chutzpah to invite as a playing partner the writer of a libelous 1993 book about Trump in which he claimed that the president-elect “raped” his ex-wife — something the ex-wife unequivocally denies.

Unlike the Dbag who currently resides in the White House, Donald Trump believes in and appreciates the value and virtue of private property!
