Somehow I get this feeling that 4 years from now, when the economy is tanking, the income inequality will be much greater, and we are mired in a military conflict, I will be here telling you I told you so.
At the end of Clinton's presidency there was a yearly surplus and we were on track to eventually pay off the deficit. Bush, businessman decided the government should run off of loans. His tax cuts ensured that there would always be a deficit. When Obama became president he tried to restore the tax structure to where it was before Bush. Republicans in congress, like every other issue, blocked his every effort. The massive debt is the result. If the Republican meme of cutting taxes to create prosperity were true our economy would be booming beyond belief. It didn't work for Reagan, it didn't work for Bush, and it won't work for Trump.
Thanks for that video, it made my day. The only thing better would have been seeing them going full "hats and bats" on them.
Why is it that for the right, these groups have to somehow be "funded" to do what they do ? These groups, agree with them or not, are true grass roots groups. You don'y have to agree with what they are doing (I don't), but to insinuate that the only reason they are doing what they are is because someone is paying them is ridiculous. Look, I don't agree with a lot Trump has done, and I actually agree with and support him on some other things he has done. On the things I disagree with, I will speak my piece to educate/sway others, but I wont go as far as to disrupt other people lives on things I disagree with to force my opinion on them. I do however support their right to protest peacefully, as that is a right in this country
When he took office the Dow was at 7,949 and falling. When he left office it was over 20,000. When he took office the unemployment rate was around 10%. When he left office it was under 5%. Civil right and freedoms for many were expanded. The health care system is in better shape. I live in a very liberal city in a Democratic dominated state. The economy is booming here. But then we don't have conservative politicians and their half a$$ed backwards ideas screwing everything up. Isn't it wild? Perhaps the two most liberal states in the country have seen the greatest increases in GDP
But I'm rarely wrong. Kind of like when Bush claimed Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. I even spent time lobbying my senators on the subject. They kept telling me that they had information that I didn't. Apparently their information was false. That is one of the primary differences between conservatives and liberals. Conservatives make up facts, liberals seek out real facts. Just like I keep telling people, "I told you so" over the weapons of mass destruction and when I was telling people, "I told you so" over the Bush economic policies I'm pretty sure that in the future I will be telling everyone, "I told you so" after Trump crashes our economy. But then I live in a liberal oasis and things are better here. We don't have conservative politicians jacking everything up. If Republican economic ideas were so great the economy would be booming. Instead it is those very liberal states of California and Oregon that have been topping the charts of economic growth.
Not quite. https://wallethub.com/edu/states-with-the-best-economies/21697/ With all your unfounded superlative claims you force some to actually check your claims out and not only are Oregon and California not the states with the best economies (Utah is, and Texas beats Oregon, sorry to tell you) but leftist states like Hawaii and Rhode Island (that don't have "conservative politicians jacking everything up") finish way down towards the bottom.
However, this happened in Portland and the cops aren't the a$$holes that they are in other cities. There is a good chance that they were giving each other high fives for taking care of the situation without anyone getting hurt.
Trump's plan is to enact massive tax cuts while increasing spending to pay for things like his stupid wall. Watch and the debt will rise even further - massively further.
If the future proceeds as the past has I will be proven correct. Yet, those on the right will be peddling some nonsense that doesn't square with reality which I will be pointing out.
I guess you missed the growth part. Last year California and Oregon tied for having the greatest increase in GDP percentage wise.
Yeah, things kinda went haywire when Obama paid Bush's credit card bill for the wars, and then paid to save the country from financial collapse....nether of which he caused. Oh and don't foget the tax breaks Bush gave that added to the debt...
Obama wasted more on his "stimulus" than the Iraq War cost for all 6 years Bush was President. When did those tax breaks occur? 2001? You'd like us to believe the tax cuts were a 8 year time bomb only coming due when Bush was out of office....that's laughable and you need to provide proof. - - - Updated - - - Nice delusion.
Soros brags about funding these groups... You can pretend otherwise. There is nothing "grass roots" about people that float from protest to protest.
Its an interesting game you play with yourself. From first blush it seems you simply engage in determined ignorance. Far be it from any to dissuade you of it, as it is humorous to read. Two things. I fear you don't understand what weapons of mass destruction are. And second, I fear you don't understand what makes an economic idea party affiliated. Likely this also is representative of the determined aspect of your assertions.
giggle, giggle he he ha ha ho ho. ha ha ha h a ha ha aaa snort snort giggle giggle ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha snot snort...... giggle Diddle daddle little piggies all in a row
Assuming for the sake of argument you are correct, growth is just one aspect of an economy. And US federal growth of the economy has been shockingly slow and under powered yet we have been constantly told how good the economy is under Obama. Though it's economy is strong at present California is up to it's neck in debt and Oregon has a middling economy at very best. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_between_U.S._states_and_countries_by_GDP_(nominal)
Let's see: One side, the National Guard, ICE, the US military. The other side: A bunch of beautiful, fool-hardy, humanist kid underdogs. I don't think I'm inclined to back the former group.
