I get the pun but that said, I realize he was a war hero..but that doesn't excuse what an ass he is these days. Either he's a democrat in disguise pretending to be a republican or he's just extremely vindictive still carrying a grudge from the campaign. Personally I think he's both and apparently doesn't care that millions will lose their health insurance soon due to premiums skyrocketing through the roof. That's because thanks to taxpayers, his medical bills will be covered which is all he cares about and therefore, fukk the American people because he wants to destroy Trump which is far more important.

If you think McCain is a "socialist," then you don't know what a socialist is. McCain is fighting brain cancer for his own survival. Would you have him cast what might be his last vote as a living Senator for a bill that would remove the same access to health care he was himself using to 16-22 million Americans who might need it themselves at any given time? What kind of American cares so little about their fellow Americans (or their families) that they can do that? Not one I would have any respect for.

In any normal country 80+ year olds with brain cancer have no say whatsoever. Simply because they're not fit to make any reasonable decision on their own. Let alone play with the future of 20+ million Americans. The hatred for Trump completely blinded democrats and liberals. So much so that they're prepared to ruin their own country and people just to get one over him.

He is a political moron more interested in preserving his "maverick" label than in the good of the country. He completely forked up the 2008 Presidential campaign by going along with the bank bailouts and it's been downhill for this attention seeker since then. His vote on repealing the individual, employer, and medical device tax is disgusting and shows a complete lack of economic understanding.

That's a very good assessment. The ALT Right can't stand him, because he is not a Tea Party guy.

No one with a functional brain can stand him. People like him bankrupt their own countries while enriching themselves and their families in the process. But hey, it requires a certain intelligence to figure that one out. Meaningless and pointless wars all over the world cost taxpayer money and eventually country bankrupts.

Step 4 was the real problem. Iraq is a backwards extremist country and trying to install a democracy is crazy. Some countries can only have order with brutal dictators and aren't yet ready for democracy.

And this lays bare why Reps can't put together a healthcare bill that can bring even partisan support, even with the threats.

Obamacare is not imploding and the number of uninsured is far lower than it used to be. Its prices are a lot higher but that is because we are paying more of the costs for the sick and the overall cost of care isn't rising and the government helps pay for a lot of the cost anyway. In the Obamacare exchanges they didn't offer a good enough deal to the healthy like they did for the sick and even with the subsidies not enough healthy people joined which drove up premiums and this coupled with the political uncertaintly surrounding Obamacare has caused many insurers to drop out. The obvious solution is to provide more generous subsidies for the healthy so more of them will join up and balance out the market like other countries do, get rid of the insurer tax, and give them full freedom to set their rates.

Your attempt to equate what the republicans just failed to do with the passing of the ACA is disingenuous at best. The ACA was passed witin REGULAR ORDER, no rammed down anyone's throat unless you think 18 moths or so of committees, public hearings, papers submitted and literally DOZENS of republican amendments made.

The "passed with no republican votes" mantra of republicans is them merely trying to justify their then 7 year long "repeal and replace" anti ACA campaign.

Never colluded with Russia? Okay all that circumstantial evidence including donnie jr's actual engaging in a least "conspiracy to collude" with a foreign government is merely a plot by democrats because they were such sore losers.

The only losers under Trump's administration are the american people and their democratic institutions. - reap what ye sow I guess.

Then might as well lose respect for him, he's simply a very vindictive old goat that carries a grudge and doesn't give a rat's azz about the American people. All that matters to him is to see Trump fail, end of story. Seven years ago and in more recent reports he was all for repealing Obamacare until Trump won and now he votes against it. Most claim even skinny repeal would be better than what's in there now. More people will continue to lose healthcare under Obamacare as time goes by because the premiums will keep rising to the point people can't afford them at all. Many are already opting to just take the penalty because it's so bad.

And you do realize that he is FULLY covered right? Government officials don't use Obamacare. They have REAL insurance. And that's another reason his hatred for Trump far outweighs what's best for Americans.

You are the only one I have ever heard say anything good about it...Doctors are even leaving their practices and going into other fields because of it. It's a complete disaster. Even most democrats are starting to bitch about it.

Your lack of history knowledge is a bit odd.

Reagan gave amnesty in return for Tip O'Neil's promise to secure the border. He was obviously lied to.

Reagan's tax plan DOUBLED revenue to the treasury, in just 3 short years. He got his tax cut, but he never got his spending cuts. The US president is not the source of spending or taxation. They can sponsor bills, but they can't make them be passed, or even be voted on.

Reagan never passed a bill regarding gay rights. That issue was WELL before Reagan's time in office in California.

Also, if we are going to devolve in to insults, like you have done, how about a nice **** you?

Actually Obamacare has a 50% approval to a 40% disapproval. The GOP plans have only a 20-30% approval. Why are doctors leaving, and how many are leaving? Is it because of Obamacare, and if so what can we change about Obamacare to fix this? Obamacare isn't perfect by a long shot and certainly can be improved but uninsuring 20-25 million isn't the solution.

Same pollsters who told us of the impending Hillary win, sure thing?

How can anyone believe in polls for a while at least.

In Southern California a lady lost a big chunk of leg to a shark and just got out of the hospital after 3 months and many surgeries. Now she has a "go fund me" page to help with medical bills. Why? Where are the the blessings of ObamaCare and her hospital bills.
I just did a search and cannot confirm Leanne Ericson did or did not have health insurance.

ObamaCare is a joke on the working poor to pay welfare health care services and no hospital fails to get paid. And no health care insurance company profits less.

ObamaCare needs a gov't option parallel and in competition with private policies.
And foster competitive medical pricing, abandoning the fixed system agreed to by profiteers.

    I dislike ObamaCare immensely.

The polls told us that Hillary would win the popular margin by a modest margin which she did and that the election was a complete tossup that was too close to call which it was. You have been misinformed by the right-wing media about what the polls actually said.

Obamacare doesn't cover 100% of healthcare or ensure that 100% of healthcare would be covered. Without more details on her situation I can't made any assessments about what improvements should be made to Obamacare.

I visited Electoral College projection pages pretty regularly.
They had it concluded that Hillary was going to win.
The toss up states and the light blue were consolidating into Dark Blue as the election neared.

I was not watching the popular vote because, who cares.
Remember Bush vs Gore. No one seems to.

    I lived it.
I don't need no media to tell me what I lived.
I was so programmed for a Hillary win and being in the Greatest State of California, I did not turn on the election returns until after 8 PM California Center of the Universe Time.
I just was not up to droll hours of analysis of a Hillary win.
    Surprise
    Surprise
    Surprise.
    And Thank You Lord. :worship:

I would have voted Sanders if I had the chance.
More of an Anti Swamp vote rather than a left / right thing.
And Hillary is a creature of the Swamp.
Maybe we could poll how many felt as I did. :roflol:

Regardless, McCain behaved like a jealous, petulant ( )0( ) over the health care vote.
And still reminds me of Senator Ted Kennedy vs Prez Jimmy Carter.

I hate McCain for supporting Al Queda in Syria after they massacred a Christian town, and supporting Nazis in Ukraine when they were killing civilians in Donbas. The man's an animal... or possessed, which is the same thing.

It was an anti swamp thing with me too. I had hoped Trump's ego would be strong enough to combat any influence, but I never expected that the Democrats were willing to destroy their own country rather than accept defeat.

Not that it matters, somethings going to break... I mean it has to. The US can't go on like this, nor can the world. We're heading towards some precipice. Either we're going to have an economic depression, a major natural disaster, a civil war. Probably all three. .

Moi - Whenever I would vote in some internet poll, the results for Trump were usually way over 60%. So I found it strange when the other polls had Hillary winning. What I couldn't figure out is why they would want to show her winning. I know now it was to convince her donors, and when she lost she had a lot to account for.

Perhaps McCain voted the way the people of Arizona wanted him to? Perhaps he represented the folks from Arizona as he was elected to do? You do realize that the majority of Americans are against the AHCA, against repeal only? Maybe McCain represented the wishes of most of America and not just a political party?

You know what happens when a political party goes against the wishes of most Americans? Look no farther back in history than 2010 when only 38% were in favor of the ACA and 58% opposed it. The Democrats passed it anyway, telling most of America to stick it where the sun doesn't shine. History shows that year the Democrats lost 63 house seats and 6 senate seats. They paid dearly going against the wishes and wants of most of America.

History has a habit of repeating itself. McCain may just stopped the Republicans from traveling the same path the Democrats did back in 2010. Who knows what will happen next year? But not listening to what most Americans want or don't want can lead a political party to become the out of power, the minority party pretty fast. Just ask the Democrats of 2010.
