Should the swastika be banned in the US?

Here's an interesting article about an attempt to "reclaim" the swastika from its racist implications via commerce:

    http://www.foxnews.com/lifestyle/20...ved-from-website-after-internet-backlash.html

Needless to say, the shirt makers were avalanched by protest, the shirt removed from sale, and the makers forced to issue an apology.

The original swastika is a 5,000 year spiritual symbol with no racial/racist overtones, and rested on its side, while the repurposed symbol is tipped to a corner.

Should ALL swastikas - original and repurposed - be banned from use in the United States?

    Just the tipped versions?

What about tipped versions ostensibly used to declaim their repurposed symbolism, but which may be used by concern trolls - among others - to shock, offend, trigger and perhaps further their repugnant ideology?

    Your thoughts are welcome. :)

More information on the history of the symbol:

My current avatar is an authentic political button used by one of our greatest modern presidents, Taft.

No it's part of the freedom of expression and part of that freedom allows people to express hate. That and suppressing history is never wise.

Nope, we should not ban things here.

However, repercussions should be allowed also.

There's an enormous amount of architecture containing the original symbol as well.

And mandalas - not to be confused with Mandela! - also use the original symbol.

As long as these repercussions are civil and consistent, I agree. :)

It should be somehow tattooed on peeps who sport it for non academic/educational purposes. Maybe on their arms or the likes, with a number. Maybe the forehead, if there's enough space.

I have "sported" it for other purposes but that doesn't mean I support it and would want it tattooed on me. I used it in WW2 video games purely to keep in the setting when playing as the Germans even though playing a video game for me isn't academic or educational.

So artists - for instance - wouldn't be allowed to use it in either form without being so tattooed...?

Artists = lefties = nazis = tattoo them all by default.

    No.

The only thing libs seem to understand is "banned" and "mandatory" though.

That would beg the question if the Democratic donkey should be banned. After all it represents the slavery and lynchings of the past. People now sport it happily.
