Maybe, but there are a lot of things that the conspiracy theorists are already working with.

Worked for Lockheed Martin bought company for a bit of time.

    Father like you said

I have to admit it DOES sound like two guns are going off at once, did he have a tripod perhaps?

I am waiting for more info to come out before I freak out one way or another

    That is another stupid comment!
If it were the case, it would CLEARLY show that those who are addicted to guns are indeed borderline crazy!

Killing people, mass shooting people because one "thinks" that there may be some background check on his "right" to own guns and semi-automatics would be the BEST EVER reason to limit access to guns!

I disagree completely. Would you, for example have had the ability to isolate the window from which in a very large building that was initiating the fire? I doubt it. Police procedure would have precluded them from returning fire with hand guns, because of the distance, and more over, the potential for collateral damage. This also would not have been coherent with their active shooter policy. Perhaps if this were an OK Corral incident with the shooter on the ground, but even still, I doubt local authorities would have been authorized to engage. I would also point out that in the previous week, there had been at least two police shootings in Las Vegas raising the level of sensitivity on the force.

The hard part here is the distance, and the inability to isolate an active sniper. I made an effort to question the method of response both from the Mandalay Bay security as well as LVPD. I think those are reasonable questions that they must answer given the time it took to actually respond and the number of dead concert goers and casualties so far.

Thanks for the image / diagram. In my minds eye I visualized the stage and event at the base of the Hotel.

1,300' is a long distance. I doubt few of the event crowd ever knew where the fire was comming from or could have seen the muzzle flashes against the lit and flashing environment of Vegas.

I really am interested in the exact type of weapon the man used.

Yup. LVPD was already having a pretty bad week. Killed a guy at a hospital, another on the street, not the environment for dirty harry responses, I think...

I agree. There are a lot of things not lining up for me.

The first one was a post someone made earlier in the thread with a link to "heavy.com" that had a bunch of links. One of those links was a helicopter fly-by video of the broken window the shooter had been shooting from. Another was cell phone video from the ground of the muzzle flashes of the shooter's gun. The window where the muzzle flashes were did not appear to be the same window in the fly-by. What's going on with that?

Of course, lots of information is yet to be discovered or divulged. Speculation at this point is a fools game.

Beautifully written, but we have no idea whether or not he was a psychopath, psychotic, or anything else.

As to how to end the madness, I'd propose a nice hot bath and maybe a belt of whiskey for now; stress and panic are not good states in which to attempt to solve a problem so statistically unusual (and potentially unsolvable at any rate) that to tear oneself up over it can do little good for anyone. :)

It wasn't a screw up. It's likely two windows from the same suite and the gunman was moving between them.

This is a worst nightmare scenario.

The only thing that stands out is perhaps "deeper 'checks'" on people who are staying long term (he was there a month? kinda stands out to me

As to guns, the weapons he used were fully outlawed. FULLY illegal, so what else?

An interesting twist on this story has just come out. While the gunman had no criminal record, his father Benjamin Paddock did. He had robbed multiple banks, broke out of federal prison, spent 8 years on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted list, and was diagnosed as psychopathic with suicidal tendencies. People who understand genetics and bloodlines may see a link here that may be relevant to the shooter's mindset. See the story at: http://www.foxnews.com/us/2017/10/0...-lived-colorful-life-crime-and-deception.html

Globalists have to keep it all talk. That's why they'll spew forth noble tripe, playing to the emotions of the other cowards in the room, quick to jump on a justification for their fear.

This was an attack. If they call the spade a spade, the nation can heal. They lie, they're an accomplice after the fact.

Twist and squirm, but your original talking point is futile. You'll notice that no where have I ever made any suggestion to the effect that you just did. Your passive aggressive is showing. Why do you believe they had it coming? Don't like country?

That is the point though, he is right, WE DONT KNOW.

So people need top stop immediately blaming and stating random ideals and stances with no backing.

Give it a few minutes people, we will learn more.

He was making shots of 450 yards? Hadn't heard it was that far. He had to be just spraying the crowd.

Are you equally - or more - concerned about the numerous other causes of MUCH more widespread harm?

They're INCREDIBLY unlikely now; how much more unlikely do you expect to make them, and at what cost?

    All of this is true.
Also, 400m is quote far for a novice to shoot effectively -- though if you have a mass target, you do not really need to be all that accurate.

IDK. Pray that they don't track back to the Holder Fast and Furious debacle? Can you see the spectacle of mr Holder and mr Obama on trial for facilitating these weapons into the public?

Ban everything that can hold more than 10 rounds.
Ban everything that can fire more than 10 rpm.
EVERYONE buying a rifle must register, gun show or not, private sale or not.
Hit people hard with the law who lose a gun (or illegally sell or gift) and then have it show up in a crime committed.
No more than 5 guns per household.

Hunters should be perfectly fine with those rules. Gun fondlers, not so much.

I'm not saying it's rational, but revenge.

Vegas is where he lost his daddy.

    Or not; who knows?
