Unless you think the tape was doctored, those words came out of Steve Schmidt's mouth. Wait...........do you think it was doctored? Maybe you do. It would fit seamlessly in to the laughable construct you've created in which pointing out Don's many deficiencies as prez (and a human being) can not be tolerated. They must be attacked for alleged bias, inaccuracies, and suspect motives. How very convenient (and frightening) that for a presidency replete with daily lies from the prez, from the podium of his spokesperson, from Repub legislators, and especially from right wing media, Don and Faux have convinced you lies are truth and truths are lies.

I guess you missed the push back implied in my response. MM is among the most pathetic and disgusting Progressive operations going. Funded by the Progressive Machine, it's massive fraud and manipulation is legendary, as is the scumbag who runs it.

While they are certainly entitled to spread their propaganda, that in no way requires anyone to view their BS with anything but the disdain they deserve.

 

I've been telling my conservative friends for years that Faux's goal has been two pronged. First, and most obviously, it's to propagandize on the part of the GOP. I don't mind if they have a conservative editorial bent. Quite a lot of media outlets do these days on both sides. But if you've seen some of what Hannity has been spewing lately about Mueller your Goebbels analogy isn't as far fetched as it first appears. Second goal, to discredit all of media while making the obscenely ludicrous claim they are the only ones telling the unvarnished truth.

What I was saying is you dismissed, or rather didn't attempt to address, what Schmidt and others said while all MM did was provide a video. Instead, you saw the MM link and the reflexive reply became, "now there's a media source I can mindlessly bash in order to avoid dealing with the content of the message." Congratulations, I'll add you to the list of people Faux has duped in to believing it is perfectly acceptable to filter out content when it conflicts with your belief system.

Nobody's credibility was destroyed. In Schmidt's case, a mainstream conservative, or what was mainstream before the GOP became radicalized, made defensible observations. The point was to get you folks to acknowledge not all critics of what Don and the GOP are doing to the country are leftist-progressive-elitist-socialist-globalist zombies. There are people on the Right, if only slightly by today's standards, who view Don as a danger to the nation.

 

Everyone is free to have their own opinions. Unlike Progressives, the GOP doesn't threaten it's member to follow doctrine, or risk being destroyed.

But for reasons defying explanation, or one that I've heard, you've aligned yourself not just with a fraud but with a movement that can twist, obscure, rationalize, and excuse objective facts and observable reality for the sake of an increasingly extreme, intolerant ideology.

 

You do realize when you use terms like Progressive Machine it makes you just sound silly, right? If you'd take time to dissect one of MM pieces and expose factual errors it would be so much more impressive than discounting what they say because some of their funding comes from liberals. I mean Rupert Murdoch is a flame throwing conservative who hired a former Republican campaign operative to start what they claimed was a "fair and balanced" cable news network. His media empire is huge. Is he part of the Regressive Machine?

What you fail to recognize is that you allow your emotions to project and invent things that you decide to believe. It seems you bolster those subjective views by using sources created for the express purpose of feeding them.

I'm not sure if you truly know what an objective fact is. By sheer reason for existence, there should be very little coming from anything the Progressive Machine promotes and does that should be considered factual. Facts don't require a political ideology to present them. Yet groups like the secretive alt-left Democracy Alliance are responsible for funding Media Matters, and other outfits like it. Why? To spread facts? Hardly. It's to spread an ideological viewpoint and agenda. No other reason.
