Wouldn't you want someone that knows the environment to be in that job? I'm a technocrat and according to my ideology that is exactly who should get the job. Assuming of course that their job within the oil company had to do with environmental impact. Honestly, who would know more about the harm that oil production can have on the environment more than people who worked for the oil company? You don't want some tree hugger yuppie in there who's never even been on an oil rig. You want people that have seen the impact first hand, read the reports, dissected the data. And obviously if they are leaving the very lucrative oil industry for a job with the government you can assume they are fairly disgruntled with their employer. Oil companies have repeatedly destroyed or derailed studies that indicate the harm they do. These people should not be making the policies that protect us from their greed. Pruitt is the most corrupt person in the current administration, and that’s impressive.
Except these people wouldn't be working for the oil companies, they would be former employees of the oil companies. What makes you think they would have any allegiance to them? Maybe Pruitt was tapping them for their inside knowledge of the oil companies so they would be more effective? Has anyone researched whether these guys were on the out with their employers? As far as I know, Trump doesn't give a crap about the oil companies, it wasn't part of his platform and he has never lauded praise on them. I don't recall him ever even mentioning them although he may have. They certainly aren't high on his list.
