I have good news for you! There are literally hundreds of congressmen! Some can work on oversight over the executive branch. Some can work on Agriculture. Some can work on the budget. Some can work on foreign relations or defense. They can all work on different projects and do the peoples business. When bills are ready for passage, they can whip those puppies out and send them to the President, and NONE of that gets impeded by what a select judiciary committee is doing with the Mueller investigation. All the President has to do, is wait for each bill to arrive and decide whether it is good or bad and work to negotiate a better version if there are concerns. That's how this system ran over hundreds of years whether the executive was being investigated by a few congressmen or not! It need never distract what the rest are capable of doing! The 'witchhunt' need never interfere with Washington getting a lot of stuff done, as long as the President is not looking for an excuse or some blackmail potential.

I have even more good news for you. Master negotiators don't care about their egos. Great deal-makers could care less what people say, or do outside that little room they draft deals in. They don't let public perceptions, and melodramas interfere with achieving their primary objective - the best compromise they can wrangle. Donald Trump, if he really is interested in negotiating and getting that deal on infrastructure , can't be stopped or distracted by a bunch of lawyers sitting in that judiciary subcommittee.

China agreed to trade concessions and they were the ones who then reneged on the deal. You are either extremely gullible or a "useful idiot" or both.

 

all the political bs set aside, personally i'm not a huge fan of a massive infrastructure bill for several reasons, so my initial thoughts about this falling through is "that is good"
duly noted I have zero info on the fine print of whatever has been proposed (if anything at this point) so i'm speaking in general terms.
Briefly, my reasons:
1) our national debt
2) I don't trust the members of congress to make good decisions on what/where/when
3) I don't trust that projects would be delivered efficiently in terms of time and money
4) I was under the impression that "most" of our infrastructure is a state/local issue, I'd rather process be left to the states to decide whats best and how to fund their own infrastructure issues.
5) if this was a 200B program or something I'd feel differently, but this is 10X that, no thanks.

If we're looking at federal owned roads, federal bridges, federal buildings, then i'm more supportive.
If these are state owned roads/bridges/buildings, then I prefer the states deal with it.

Nope.

He told them what he will not do, for as long as they continue their witch hunt. Their witch hunt does not ever idle and does not ever stand down; they never put it at ease. Their impeachment effort is always looking for ammo.

The infrastructure effort, will be more of the same. Yes, if Trump allows the Dems to continue their current course.

It is the epitome of, delusional, to expect the President to be able to work in a trusting progressive way, with Dems looking to use his every action against him.

Trump is brilliant and, factual, by citing veracious trust issues which prevent him from having confidence in the Dem's claim that they are ready to work.

I think the Dems are not serious about the Infrastructure frontier, and only want to sit down with Trump to dig up/create more talking points for Impeachment. That's why Pelosi exited the meeting hollering, "Cover up!".
