Please elaborate on each and how you believe he acted in a similar manner?

And of course President Clinton went FAR beyond that and did the Democrats impeach and remove him?

There was nothing about the call with Zelensky that, if leaked, represented a compromise of national security info.

First we all have due process. Second Muller said in the end his testimony was not necessary as by that time they had enough information concerning what happened with regard to whistleblower he was investigating. Not once didbhe have to go to court to get testimony or documents or anything. Can you say that about the Clinton impeachment? Did the Democrats votes to impeach and remove him?

The last thing the Repubs need is another lawyer who has proven himself to be a hyper-partisan hack. But since he was up to his eyeballs in unsubstantiated conspiracy theories when he was in the House it makes sense that he would join the band of assembled Repub nut baggers peeing in to the wind.

You are mistaken. Not going to court to compel testimony does not mean he got all he asked for. For example, Donnie J refused to testify.

Whataboutism, especially when the accusations against the Bidens have long been debunked, does not make it okay for the president to send his personal lawyer to meet with Ukrainian officials and urge them to help him by finding dirt on his political opponent. And what did AG Barr have to do with this? Our Justice department has no authority to investigate anything in Ukraine or any other foreign nation.

Even if the Bidens were guilty of anything other than being stupid enough to have Hunter take a job over there in the first place, it would not make it okay for Trump to hold up military aid in order to coerce a head of state to do his personal bidding.

Anything Hunter Biden may have done years ago has already been looked into. Trump held up congressionally approved and allocated aid for his own personal ends. If he cared even a tiny bit about that type of corruption, why did he allow Ivanka to gain more than $100 million in Chinese patents for her now-failing fashion products? There's a better whataboutism back at ya.

I'm not putting words in your mouth. In this very post you are saying that by not answering all the questions then he impeded Mueller's investigation. IE: He was supposed to answer all the questions. In earlier posts you stated that he gave insufficient answers to questions complaining about the answer of "not remembering". IE: Trump did not answer the questions to your satisfaction. All I did was succinctly put what you had already said into fewer words.

A person being investigated is not impeding the investigation by not answering questions or not answering them to the investigators satisfaction. That is a legal fact. One you can deny all you want, but it is a fact that still exists and is, if anything, more "manifestly true" than what you have been arguing. Whether you like it or not.

And seriously, Trump provided Mueller with millions of documents. Co-operated with each and every single subpoena sent his way by Mueller. Trump told everyone to co-operate with Mueller. Mueller had analysts, 40 some odd investigators at his command, and spent 2 years investigating Trump. Yet you choose this one thing as definitive proof that Trump impeded Mueller's investigation? This one thing which is afforded to every single person in the US that is under investigation?

And Trump is his superior. :shrugs: As such you would have to agree, Trump did not hinder Mueller's investigation.

One last thing. Mueller admitted that he did not need Trumps testimony or answers to those questions. He had already gotten everything he needed or wanted from the rest of the investigation. Something that he admitted while testifying in Congress. Go watch it if you don't believe me. Here's a link to it: Mueller Testimony live stream: Watch Special Counsel Robert Mueller's Congressional hearing today So again, still no impediment.

You just did it again. I'm sorry if you can't make a convincing argument without changing the meaning of what I wrote to what you want it to mean. That's your problem, not mine.

"And Trump is his superior. :shrugs: As such you would have to agree, Trump did not hinder Mueller's investigation."

That is as disingenuous an argument (and a specious one) as I've seen on the board.

Mueller requested that Trump testify under oath for his investigation. He refused. Mueller then requested answers on the matter of obstruction be answered in written form. Again, Trump refused. Mueller submitted written questions on the matter of conspiracy and received, in Mueller's words, "insufficient" answers including 30 instances when the prez claimed he "did not remember."

The paragraph above is an objective fact. How does one refuse to answer questions and not impede an investigation?

Debunked by who exactly? The News media? The prosecutor who was hired right after the last prosecutor got fired via threats by Biden to the Ukraine government to fire the prosecutor? And if that prosecutor had done such a good job then why is it that it just came out that Ukraine was already re-investigating what happened with Burisma months before Trumps phone call? If that is true then it seems to me that whoever "debunked" the claim didn't do a very good job and there's questions as to the legitimacy of the prior investigation.

As for holding up military aide as being proof that Trump pressured Ukraine: Problem with that. As evidenced by the texts that Rep Cummings released, they, Ukraine, did not even know that was happening at the time of Trumps call. It wasn't until August 28th that Ukraine's ambassador texted Volker needing to talk about an article by Politico about Trump withholding funds. Which is when the story about US with holding aide to Ukraine first came to light.

I'm just using your own words. Not my fault when you don't like Occam's Razor.

Are you saying that Trump was not Mueller's superior?

Yes, that paragraph is objective fact. What is not objective fact is your conclusion that it impeded Mueller's investigation. It didn't. For two reasons. One: Trump was the one being investigated. Not answering questions is not only his Right but was also demanded of him by his lawyers. And there is not one single case out there that concludes that a person being investigated has to answer questions to the prosecutors satisfaction or that by not answering questions they are impeding an investigation. But there are cases out there that affirm that the one being investigated does not have to answer a single question.

And again, since you ignored it, Mueller admitted that he did not need Trump to answer those questions as he had already gotten everything he needed. How can not answering questions impeded an investigation when the investigator already has everything that they need without the person being investigated answering any questions?

Yeah, I saw that earlier today. All I could do was laugh. Trey Gowdy has much respect from me. He calls it like it is more often than not and since he knows the inn's and out's of Congress the Dems are going to have a very hard time with continuing to pull their shenanigan's.

You forgot to mention his collusion with Russia. I'm surprised that wasn't mentioned since you've made 100+ threads on the topic

You understand the purpose of making the baseless allegations against the Biden's is only to raise the air of suspicion, right? Now that the baseless allegations have been made, and The Following believes they have merit.........without any facts to support that belief, Don has accomplished the mission. Smearing Biden without proving he did anything wrong.

"Ukraine, did not even know that was happening at the time of Trumps call"

Why do you believe that makes any difference at all?

You do know that it wasn't Trump that initially made the allegations right? That it was being reported on prior to Trumps call by the News Media including the New York Times back in May?

You seriously have to ask such a question? How can Trump threaten to withhold military aide to Ukraine in the phone call in July 25 when it was never mentioned and Ukraine didn't even know about it until over a month had passed since the phone call? And then only because Politico broke the story and not through anything that the Trump admin or Trump himself did? The whole narrative that Trump was threatening to withhold Military aide unless Ukraine did those investigations is shot to hell for that reason.

Your own article shows that there was no quid quo pro. Yes, Trump was worried about corruption. Yes, Trump wanted to know what happened in the 2016 elections. But nothing in that article shows that Trump with held money on the condition (ie: Pressure to investigate) that they investigate Biden or even the investigation into 2016 election tampering. Nothing in your article shows that Ukraine knew that the money was being with held.

Yes, the Dems would focus on that along with the left wing media. Why do they ignore the rest? Like the fact that those texts are also evidence that Ukraine did not know the money was being with held until after the phone call with Trump?

And here's another question for you, please try to answer this one instead of ignoring it like you have so many other things that I have said. Why haven't the Democrats released ALL the text messages? They themselves admit that those are only part of the texts. No doubt the ones most damning in their minds eyes. Reminds me of he Nunes Memo. Funny that the Democrats were furious about that and yet they are doing the very same thing that they accused Nunes of.

Trump was worried about corruption so he tried to get Ukraine to corruptly produce an investigation Trump wanted? How odd.

You're the one that tried to claim that it was Trump trying to make baseless allegations against the Biden's in order to smear the Biden's. That is factually untrue since it was the Media that first reported on it.
