I don't know that the "fake news crews" deserve much or any of the blame here. I ave certainly seen many of them have an in depth discussion of the policy proposal, but it is very difficult to get past the slogan unfortunately that can be interpreted in such a brash and simplistic manner by those opposed to the policy.

The policies that "defund the police" groups are advocating (i.e. redirecting some of the resources/responsibilities of the police that currently are designed to address things like mental health or housing), is just really difficult to summarize into a neat slogan, I think.

I'm advised that anyone that states "defunding the police means defunding the police is being intentionally misleading". Well then. Biden will "redirect" funds (defunding the police) as he's told.
