You do know that police are not allowed to let just anyone near someone that's been shot right?

Also you do know that BLM was being aggressive and that they had no reason to believe that BLM "medic" was actually there to help or was just going to use it as an excuse to get closer to them in order to attack right?

Why would police trust someone from a group attacking them? Would you? No need to answer that. It's a rhetorical question. We both know that you wouldn't. But you'll ignore that in favor of a political talking point.

It's a tragedy, piled on top of numerous other tragedies, and it's a damned shame that Portland could not END all this rioting, violence, and anarchic crime WEEKS AGO. The Portland police must be nearly out of their minds with exhaustion, physical and mental, from having to deal with this unending idiocy. But, we see this kind of 'government' in lots of American cities that are contaminated by liberal Democrat administrators....

The police lied then. Here is the video

"Authorities state that he admitted he had a knife and that knife was found on the floor in his vehicle"

They literally didn't even try and grab him and pull him to the ground. Like, the guy has nothing in his hands while they literally let him walk all the way around his vehicle, and simply follow him with his gun drawn. Like put the ****ing thing away and grab the guy from behind. Pull him down and he and his partner could have cuffed him and led him away.

What a joke. These cops should be ashamed.

As for your last point: yes. He violated his restraining order, failed to comply with a lawful order, and was going to get a knife with which I assume he would use to threaten or assault the cops or others with. He isn't blameless or innocent in this. He just didn't deserve 7 in the back by cops too chickenshit to physically restrain the guy.

And yet, if Blake had simply stood still and obeyed police instructions in the first place, he would probably already be 'released on recognizance' or some other jive-ass 'turnstile' legal procedure and having a normal next-day of flouting the laws, ignoring everyone else's rights and happiness, and just 'being himself'... right?

They rarely put anybody in jail for these kinds of offenses anymore -- especially in lib-infested cities in the lib-infested Upper Midwest....

Well yeah, if he wasn't born, hr wouldn't have died.

I'm not disputing his record, or his actions. He started this process. But the Cops must be held to a higher standard then the individuals of society.

    Dropped when he was shot...................

    \

He told investigators he had a knife

    upload_2020-9-1_11-33-30.png

    And? Justifiable shooting.

    The former.

    Either one justifiable shooting.

No, but reaching for a knife after resisting arrest might get you shot. That's the way the cookie crumbles.

And why hasn't the #metoo movement sided with the REAL victim in all of this - the woman of color that called the cops because Jacob was taking her car with the kids?

Should cops let known violent offenders steal cars with kids inside after they've sexually assaulted someone, violated a restraining order, and are now going to drive off with three kids in a car?

    I don't think so.

Why? It shows the pertinent moments of how the cops dealt with him up until he was shot. As I don't care about Jacob or his background or why they where there, this video exemplifies my specific issue with the cops actions.

Never said they should. If 2 Cops (who has the perps exposed back to them within a foot of distance) can't take down an unarmed guy who's walking away from them, they shouldn't be cops.

The issue isn't the stopping of the guy, it's the 7 unnecessary bullets to the back.

Cops aren't required to be physically superior. Your argument is not logical. Either the law matters, or it doesn't. What you're arguing is that a perp is only guilty if the cops can out-muscle him.

    Poor logic.

Ok so if he dropped the knife into the van that means that he complied with police order to "drop the knife". If he dropped the knife into the van on on the ground that means he complied with police orders to "drop the knife" so again why was he shot if he complied with police orders?

Another thing is if he was dropping the knife into the car he according to one video cam to a stop in order to open the van and drop the knife. So at that point he was not running away.
So was he shot after he dropped the knife and come to a stop?
So if he complied by dropping the knife and stopping how is the shooting justifiable?

He wasn't supposed to be there, but he was, and he stole the girls car keys.

Cops tried to serve him for the warrant that he had ALREADY.

I mean, this whole thing seems pretty easy to understand.

HE WAS SHOT the knife ended up on the floor of the car. Prove he complied with the lawful orders of the police, dropped the knife voluntarily and showed his hands to the police. Prove the police knew there was not another weapon in the vehicle.

He certainly did, after they lit him up. Not before when they asked him repeatedly, but AFTER he was shot.

I'd be more impressed if he was able to hang onto it through all that.

It starts at the halfway point and his background is key to the fact the police knew he was a wanted violent criminal known for physical violence and using a lethal weapon.

By his own admittance he had a lethal weapon....................why do you keep claiming he was unarmed?

He wasn't killed let alone executed why do you now misrepresent it? In order to get that defense in our much vaunted "US Justice System" you must first comply with the arrest, else how do you do so?

That's true. An execution is a legal killing of a human being.
The cop's gonna skate. Blake most likely was not a boy scout. But he was shot 7 times in the back while the cops did not know of any threat he posed to their or anyone else's life.

An execution is a court ordered proceedure. And Blake "most likely" not a boy scout? Have you read his record? Do you know why the police were summoned there? Do you know there were outstanding felony warrants for violent acts? The police knew exactly the threat he posed and had a reasonable belief he was escalating that threat after already fighting them and brandishing a weapon and acted accordingly.

    That's incorrect. Sorry.

First, nobody knows what Jacob was actually thinking when he resisted arrest, struggled with cops, and was armed with a knife, EXCEPT for the fact that he appears to have been trying to steal a car with three kids in the back seat, armed with a knife.

Cops are not required to be mind readers, which is why you STOP and talk to them when they ask you to.

Still doesnt matter. They had more then enough time and opportunity to grab him from behind and take him down.

Because at the time of the shooting, he was. The knife was in the car and found on the floor of said car. He was going for it, he didn't have it in his hand.

It does matter. He had a warrant out. They needed to take him in. He needed to go. He was trying to get into a car that apparently he was stealing, with kids in the car, and a knife. They tried every logical escalation prior to shooting him. He wasn't driving off with three kids in the back seat and a knife. He was a sex offender.

how do you know he didn’t drop it?

the reality is his background does matter. The officers knew they were going in a dealing with a violent sexual predator that violated a court order by being there. His violent behavior, refusal to follow lawful demands, admission of having a deadly weapon he was going to use all are in play and in the officers minds when he is resisting
