Oh well, at least he didn't win a Nobel Peace Prize for doing nothing but being half black. Horizontal Harris will likely be the next winner.
Starting a post with “Everyone knows . . .” is generally a tip-off that you don’t have an argument. The cases were thrown out of court because they were weak. Laughably weak, in fact. Occam’s razor.
Trumpists were the only ones putting him forward as a man worthy of any kind of admiration. . . until he dared say a word agains the Dear Leader.
You obviously haven't even tried looking into Giuliani's "collection." The vast majority don't even allege to have witnessed any fraud. They are also full of claims based on basic misunderstandings (as the courts have pointed out), such as people claiming that they saw no signature verification . . . when they were not observing a part of the process that involved signature verification. And even Trump's lawyers had to admit, under oath, in court, that their method of collecting "statements" resulted in outright lies and trolling, even under penalty of perjury. Why are Trumpists so allergic to the concept of homework?
That's all well and good, but it ignores the Obama supporters who had blinders on during his eight year tenure and now want to blame the divisiveness entirely on Trump. I'm an Independent so I'm not beholden to either party, and I hate the divisiveness and the polarization (that's one of the reasons I came to hate Obama so much, even though I was guilty of voting for him in 2008,) but I don't see us finding any middle ground when half of the Dem party is suffering from such severe TDS. Do you honestly see anything unifying in the words or actions of folks like Biden, Harris, Pelosi, Schumer, or AOC, or even from any of the myriad Democrats just on this forum? Do you see anything unifying in the mainstream media, which is where the majority of the leftwing brainwashing comes from in the first place? Where do you expect unity to come from when most of Biden's platform was "Trump baaaad" and "I'm not Trump"? By the way, these are mostly rhetorical questions. But maybe they'll be thought provoking to someone. Maybe
I'm glad the questions are rhetorical! Much of what you suggest I can't disagree with. From abroad, both sides look pretty much as bad as each other, albeit at this exact moment, the attempts to overturn the election result looks truly shameful. On this forum, I'd say hyper-partisans are pretty evenly distributed on both sides, as well as people on both sides who can at least consider another opinion. Not so many of the latter, but it's always nice to come across them. Honest answer to the Biden question - I think it was helpful that he was quite restrained when all this 'election fraud' thing started; I think that was an attempt at avoiding the greater damage an all-out confrontation might have caused. Could you imagine Trump keeping as quiet if the roles had been reversed? Looking for unifying elements in the media is probably a forlorn hope - their whole model is based on conflict. I don't have great ideas how the whole situation can improve, but I'm always heartened when I have a discussion here where someone I thought was a real partisan turns out to be more open-minded, and we find a tiny bit of common ground.
Your brand of Conservatism must be Juan McCain, Smitten Romney, Jeff Flakey Flake,Paul lyin Ryan. None of those guys could ever in a million years get elected and were always a safe bet for Democrats. You have to be real careful about those that go around branding themselves as Conservstive. Even Barry Goldwater was a Trojan Horse. They are all Rinos. No, all I said that the China Virus happened during his administration, put on us by China and practically undid his economic success. Had we still been in the Obama trend, the U.S. would go down. By the way, Trump is the only one I've heard talking about holding China accountable. Of course that would upset the Biden Crime Family cart for sure!! only because you can't address it.
I find them very thought provoking. Oil and water don't mix. There are those of us that will NEVER give in to the leftist globalism being proposed. America #1!!
No....Biden didn't confront. Instead, he sued to avoid investigation while he acted like a President Elect way before the electoral college voted. He rammed his feigned victory down our throats with the help of the left wing media so there would be more resistance to an investigation. The Biden Crime Family have their methods!
You were the one that said " I think it was helpful that he was quite restrained when all this 'election fraud' thing started;" I take issue with that. Want me to keep quiet? Not happening. Sorry to disappoint.
Thoughts: 1) Article states that "Since 1946, the incumbent president has topped Gallup’s most admired man list 60 out of 74 times." I am curious about past incumbent presidential winners, by what % they carried their registered party, and how long they remained that high after leaving office. 2) It is nice to see the Democrats have a a better split among their vote, especially with Biden having so small a share. It is unhealthy for a single figure, especially the incumbent POTUS to have such a command of the base. It makes going against their wishes all the harder, especially when they are on Twitter threatening primaries for those who show insufficient loyalty. 3) Am surprised Trump is under 50%. But researching the history of this poll is disturbing: 2016 - 34% of Republicans 2017 - 35% of Republicans 2018 - 32% of Republicans 2019 - 45% of Republicans 2020 - 48% of Republicans The Republican party right now has a very unhealthy obsession with one man who himself has a very unhealthy obsession with personal loyalty.
Not even remotely? I think his efforts in the middle east have been productive. He has been a strong supporter of the military in general and the VA in particular. He is reducing our presence in the mideast, helping save lives. Nothing hateful about that, especially if you are the parent of a kid in the military, as I am. He has at least started a dialog on the problem with China's trade policy. He has at least tried to crack down on illegal immigration. He has been a strong proponent of law and order. He is pushing congress to readjust the budget to give more relief to everyone, including people who "struggle to find anything at all to admire about him." Why should he do that given the hatred? Even Biden and Jake Tapper acknowledgr his role in getting two vaccines approved when you haters mocked him for even suggesting the possibility. Remember that? This one is never mentioned, but I think he is and has been remarkably cheerful and upbeat in the face of relentless hatred and efforts to paint him -- simultaneously -- as a Russian agent and a Nazi. The comparison to dictators is especially ridiculous. How many newspapers has he shut down? How many political opponents stifled? How many wars of aggression has he initiated? And are you still expecting a coup? How well would any of us have stood up to all those preposterous stories about the Russian hookers and Cohen's secret mission to Prague? He is also criticized for simultaneously not taking his salary and for having secret creditors in Russia and or Germany. The guy literally can do nothing to please you. I remember when the liberals used to say "Hate is Not a Family Value." But they sure hate him.
THAT'S what floors me. More of this fake admiration in which the left engages, Dr. Jill Biden. What in particular did she do in 2020 to be the most admired woman, sold the Obama name?
That's the media telling you that. They are just trying to present a unified front. Some are appalled, some are supportive, most see his good points and his bad points.
I do not quite understand what you mean by "that's the media telling you that". Could you clarify which statement in my post you believe is the media telling me that?
