One way to reduce the debt is to devalue it through inflation. Our target rate is 2%, and by the time the covid money is played out it will probably be close to 3%. Inflation will pump up the GDP without adding to the debt.

LOL! Take a look at the charts I posted. The only benefit of the dollar will be we will have enough toilet paper for the next pandemic.

    LOL! Voodoo economics.

The government is notorious for changing metrics to get the numbers they want. They do it with unemployment and inflation.

No need to embarrass yourself and be condescending. I have a good friend that mines cryto. He has invested a lot of money in it. He has a pretty big set up where he does his mining and is part of a a bigger group of miners. Even he knows it’s all a crap shoot. Replacing the dollar? Your argument loses almost all credibility with that one statement. Even replacing something with obvious intrinsic value like gold is a hope and a prayer at best..

Bitcoin has been around for more than 10 years. The Lindy Effect suggests it will likely be around for another 10.

Sure, sure having a "friend" who mines crypto makes you an expert? LOL!

Crypto mining is on its way out. Staking is replacing it. Many cryptos are not mined anymore. Does your friend use an 8 track tape player to listen to music?

You just know more than everyone. It costs a lot of money to mine something that’s just worth something as long as there is someone willing to speculate on it. According to you, The dollar , backed by America, which is the most respected Currency in modern history is done. Gold which is probably even more respected is done. All being replaced by something ultimately backed by no one or nothing. Who is using your precious Cryptocurrency to purchase what? Likely will end as a pyramid scheme with little if any real value.

Apparently I know more than you. Take a look at the charts I posted. The dollar looks doomed. You refuse to see the forest for the trees. The US government is corrupt. A currency backed by a corrupt government is destined to fail.

The more you type , the more I think I should sell my remaining small stake in crypto. I don’t need America or gold , I have you. Thankfully there are some better thought out reasons to still own a little crypto.

I guess you really just have nothing left to say. Not that what you said was anything more than hype or fear at best. I hope your feelings are okay. Some talk tough and then play the cry card.

Charts can show anything, anyone wants them to. I’ll take your condescending Murcia comment any day over any chart that shows America, it’s currency and gold will fall to the likes of Bitcoin. I think this conversation, or whatever it was has run it’s course.

I understand anyone wanting to hang on to legacy financial ways but crypto is more than Bitcoin and Dogecoin. It is worth looking in to.

I did read up on block-chain, and I have a much better understanding. Block chaining is still dependent on cryptography, even though it adds more security to the data. Just note, it is not full proof, it is technology based.

Therefore, better technology would make it less valuable. I do believe it will make its mark, but its future is still market based.

I agree but block chain is more than cryptography. It uses a network of computers to secure information. Everything is pretty much market based. Smart phones would not be as plentiful if people didn't want them. There is a lot of technology out there but if it doesn't serve a practical purpose then it won't be used.

Theta's video streaming is a great example. Theta is a cryptography currency but its technology is being used. One example is the World Poker Tour is going to use it. NASA has also used it.

Seriously, I would not just dive in to crypto investing without looking in to it. One of the most important things I have learned is there is a cycle. Bitcoin pretty much drives the crypto market. Every 4 years there is a "halving" where basically the amount of Bitcoin that can be mined is cut in half. Thus the term "halving".

The following year is a bull run. This year is the bull run. The next year is a dip and pretty much a bear market. That is followed by prices consolidating until the next halving event and the cycle starts again.

This has been the historical experience of the market.

As far as what to invest in, Dogecoin is a gamble in my opinion. It really doesn't have any utility other than entertainment and folks just seem to like it. Other crypto currencies do have a use. Mdrobster hit the nail on the head when posting that crypto future is market based. Some crypto "companies" are being used but many are just projects so these "coins" are basically venture capitalist investments.

News events and publicity drives along of the price of these coins. Dogecoin jumps when Elon Musk tweets about it. To make short term gains one would need to keep an eye on news about certain crypto coins. I invest in projects I think have long term potential. Since I am not a financial advisor I only know what my risk tolerance is and what I am willing to invest in.

The whole crypto space is interesting. That is mostly why I like it. People are actually buying virtual real estate.....when I first heard that it sounded absolutely insane. After looking in to it now it seems not so insane. It isn't my thing though.

Never said Block-Chain was only cryptography, but dependent on it. With Quantum computing and AI up and coming, there will be more advances that can make this technology obsolete. Like I said, it will leave its mark, and of course can be a substitute for hard currency, but that is a long way from replacing currency.

Think I'll stick to my "non-crypto" US currency stashed in the mattress rather than one that can disappear with a power outage. While Charles Ponzi's body may lie 'a moldering in the grave, his entrepreneurial spirit marches on.

Virtual real estate seems more like a holistic or meta investment strategy with the term virtual as a plug to interest others. All these markets are undergoing some serious changes, and I give you kudos for staying abreast. Too much is going to change, including the so-called office workplace, and one needs to be careful as to which, where and when to invest.

Welcome to the blockchain, powered only by people like you, pumping real money down the drain.

Have you ever used crypto to send/receive/buy something? No, you haven't, because there are useless as a currency, its such a flawed design for a payment system, its laughable...

Tell me why do you guys buy crypto? To make more money/to invest, right? Does this sound like a currency?...... A payment system?

Doge guy, you are very late to the train, I sold all the bitcoins I had(HUNDREDS) years ago afraid of the 51% network attach by the Chinese....How do you like the pyramid scheme, where the top nodes are owned by Chineese? The 1million bitcoins put aside by 'Satoshi' guy from the start?

Do you have any clue how this works? because you just seem hyped and its clouding your judgement.

I could care less, but the whole thing is actually starting to affect everyone else, because of energy consumption and the resulted pollution.

Finally, governments are starting to draft proposals to regulate this. As needed. As expected.

Crypto is regulated. You have only managed to show how much you do not know about it.

Tell us which government and what have they done?
