Hence why using racism to combat racism is a bad idea.

Also...are you going to acknowledge that I never said racism doesn't exist? Or are you going to pretend that exchange didn't happen and still believe that I did?

Martin Luther King Jr was referring to the kind of people who reject CRT and the 1619 Project, IMO. People who let darkness and hate rule them.
I am not going to re-hash yesterday's comments. I know what you said and so do you. Move on. Be an adult.

Given today's overheated rhetoric from both sides of the political spectrum I'm somehow not surprised at this:

You suggest that King would approve of teaching racism to children? My impression is that he would want the opposite.

So, is CRT and the 1619 project telling exactly how these slaves were obtained in their curriculum? That they were enslaved and sold by their own people? And that this same continent were slavery was born, still have one of the largest slave population on the planet?

MLK would reject both. That should be obvious from his I Have a Dream Speech, the fact that he was an intelligent man, and that he was a Republican.

An adult would apologize for an false assertion that they made against another and an adult would demand that apology to hold that person accountable.

I'm sure Dr King would approve of teaching the truth.

I don't know exactly how they will teach about the Trans Atlantic slave trade. But, if I were teaching that subject I'd say this:
Many centuries ago Europeans in ships came to the Western shores of Africa looking for slaves. There had been fighting amongst the tribes :Fulani, Yoruba, Igbo. The chiefs of the different tribes would take prisoners of the enemy tribes; they were all Black. Much like when the English would fight the Irish; they were all White, but they were enemies.
Anyway, sometimes those African chiefs would sell their prisoners of war to the White European slave traders. That's how millions of enslaved Blacks ended up in the Americas.
As for how and why slavery is still allowed in Africa even today, I cannot answer that. All I can say is sometimes greed and cruelty triumphs over humanity and compassion.
    Hope I answered your questions.

An adult would move on when he knows he is wrong.
    Have a nice day.

So, you're not going to admit that I never said that there is no racism. Got it. Now I know how... "honest" you are.

You need to define truth. What you said was opinion while responding to my opinion. Two truths. Yours and mine.

false Martin Luther King was rejecting critical race theory.

Anybody without a political agenda would because that's all it is.
No doubt most people like to avoid things that prove they're on the wrong side of it.

My complaint with critical race theory isn't that it's racist it's that it's wrong.

Teaching crt schools would be like teaching Flat Earth in schools. It is that false.

The way to mortally wound critical race theory, is to ask the simple question why does 1+1=2?

As an Iranian immigrant thats been in America since the 80s I have to say I am watching another version of Islamic extremism right before my eyes but this times its called Woke.

If you want to see who the extremists are and those that we need to fight against in society just follow who is trying to brainwash the kids at an early age.

Let parents teach their kids this stuff at that early age. High school is where there is nuance with this stuff but we're talking about elementary school here. Anyhow I have a feeling this will have the opposite effect anyway and most will laugh at the ridiculousness of CRT.

Who will determine the curriculum? The Florida State Republican Committee or bipartisan historians?
