Everyone should be outraged by what Biden admitted to doing. Forcing small business to have to increase wages because he is paying people not to work. Giving one party a bargaining chip at taxpayer expense against another party.

They did so a year before that crash began and bragged about how they were cutting Bush out.

Recessions happen, economic slowdowns happen why is is always the urge to blame them on Presidents alone as if Congress doesn't even exit? The REAL issue is how those slowdowns and recessions are addressed policy wise to help mitigate the depth and lengths and then get us into full recoveries and by FAR Republican policies do better just compare the 2001 recession and recovery and the 2008 recession and recovery.

If one understands that some of the Left have a widespread agenda of Degrowth, their continual sabotaging of the American Worker makes more sense.

Why do presidents get the acclaim during good times if they can't have it during the bad? It's like a football team where it takes ten guys to make one quarterback the star.

They don't. The 2008 recession started a YEAR after the Democrats took back power.

But you are not, you just spouted some talking points and cannot back them up.

Do you even know what the appropriate metrics are?

You were chiming into a response I had to someone blaming Bush for the 07-08 crisis. Sorry if I misinterpreted.

And you think the recession was a result of only what took place those 11 months after they took back power?

How about you list all the bills passed and singed off on by Bush II in those 11 months that lead to the recession

So it started in 2007? Why else would it be a recession of 2008 if it happened any other time?
From what I can remember there was a significant amount of job loses in the fall of 2008 which is not 2009. We also had fuel prices of over four dollars a gallon and a spike in the tax on cigs making them over fifty dollars a carton for Marlboro.

Again it's not just a matter of just who is President. It is the make up of the balance of power between the House and the Senate and the WH. We had good times during Clinton's last term but that was because the Dems had lost the Congress and Republicans had that majority power and forced him to sign on to their policies.

I do agree it it stupid to blame the POTUS, just as it is stupid to blame any one party

Pretty hard to compare recessions that are so very different. The 2001 recession was barely a recession. GDP only went down -0.3% and lasted half as long as the 2008.

sure there is, if someone is giving tax money for a purpose and then doesn't use it for that purpose, they need to give it back

It is up to which party has the power to implement the correct policies to help mitigate economic slowdowns and recessions. 2001 was a serious recession with the Dot.com bust and then 9/11. But the Republicans took mostly the correct actions which helped to mitigate the length and depth and then get us into a full recovery. The Democrats failed entirely starting in 2007 and through 2015 deepening the recession, lengthening the recession and producing the worst recovery in modern history and Biden is trying to go down that same path again.

Reagan sent several spending recisions to Congress but they only passed a few.
