Taliban reign of terror begins as fighters go door to door in Kabul with ‘kill list’ as women face torture & execution

A lot more people are going to die.

The Taliban will make sure of it, and they will broadcast it.

US forces are still in harms way as well.

20 years, more than 2300 US service members dead, more than 22,000 injured and close to 1 trillion dollars spent training and equipping the Afghan Army. And the army surrenders even faster than the Iraqi army did with ISIS.

Had we stayed 20 more years and given 2000 more lives and another trillion dollars maybe it would have taken the Taliban two weeks to take back the country.

We gave the Afghan people every chance and everything they needed to stand on their own two feet, they have chosen not to.

I am sure you blame the guy who got us into this quagmire 20 years ago without a plan? Yes? Or did you vote for that guy and did cheer-leading for the Afghanistan invasion and that of Iraq? Come on, tell us where you really stand.

Sad thing all that investment was flushed down the drain so easily.

The Afghan government needed air support.

Between July 2018 and July 2019, there were only 28 coalition casualties.
Staying to help provide support to the Afghan government and keep things stable was not costing too many lives.

You know the only reason he brings up Germany in every response to me is that he thinks he is clever because I was born in Germany.

Taliban in Afghanistan taking young girl sex slaves

Hmm, maybe if Biden is nice the Taliban will let him sniff some of those girl's hair so he can determine what brand of shampoo they are using...

You cannot force a people to accept freedom no matter how hard you try.

The idea that the Taliban took over in 3 days due to lack of air support is the funniest thing I have read about this yet.

How many is enough for you? How much money should we keep giving them as we hit 29 trillion dollars in debt in our country?

The government just needed a little bit of help and continued support.

Things don't just go on for 10 years and then suddenly collapse for no reason.

If we abandoned them, we admit that some entire parts of the world and some groups of people are just hopeless.

Oh, but I'm sure if we move all of those people to some new country everything will be okay.

We have given them more than a little bit of help, it clearly did not do much good.

And this is the case. Again, we gave them 20 ****ing years to stand on their own feet, what more could we do except just stay forever?

The full story will unfold in time, but I I'm reading rumors that a lot of the government forces had pre-arranged to surrender to the Taliban. So you are correct, things don't just collapse for no reason.

Biden said this yesterday do...do you agree or not.....American troops cannot, and should not, be fighting in a war, and dying in a war, that Afghan forces are not willing to fight for themselves,

Afghans have fought and died in greater numbers than Americans so Biden is again being disengenuous.

Isn't it like a repetition of Vietnam?
As soon as you Americans left, the ridiculous 1973 Peace Treaty was signed, which wasn't even worth the ink and paper it was written on ...
And as soon as your support for South Vietnam came to an end, the country went steeply downhill ... not quite as fast as it is now in Afghanistan, but according to the same pattern!

Do you Americans learn from such things at some point in order to make them better in the future?

How many fought and died over the last week as the Taliban took back the country?

This is from The Economist....what do you think of this...

Mr Pompeo also apportioned blame to the Afghan president, Ashraf Ghani, calling him more interested in accumulating American money than in talking to his own people, and he said the American armed forces had failed across two decades to train Afghan forces. Reporting by the Washington Post and others has shown the armed forces and civilian leaders misled the public throughout the war, insisting on progress that did not exist, including in training Afghan soldiers. In fact, by supplying so much combat experience, America appears to have been more effective in training Taliban fighters.

We as a nation suck at learning from our mistakes, we just keep making the same ones.

And Iraq as well. We spent billions training and equipping the Iraqi army and they folded to ISIS just as fast as the Afghan army did.

These people are not willing to fight for freedom, why should we do it for them?

Who’s fault is that? Is the military and intel incredibly inept? We were lied too for 20 years. From what I understand we also paid the Taliban millions to be nice.

It is the fault of every president we have had since Bush invaded the country.

Yet you are willing to put 100% of the blame on someone that has been president for less than 7 months.

One thing is for certain, this makes Biden's statement about how do Americans expect to fight against their own government without nuclear weapons seem absurd. Twenty years against a super power and ignorant peasants with guns won. This is why gun rights matter and why the establishment will never cease attempting to eradicate them. The establishment recognizes the threat that guns in the hands of the people are to them. They can pretend that they are trying to save lives but that is a transparent lie. If they really cared, they would not be releasing felons from prisons early, doling out lenient sentences to career criminals and prattling on about defunding the police. They need the violence to justify the dismantling of the Constitution.

So now American lives are meaningless? Where was this complete disregard for American lives when y'all were furious over 4 lives in Benghazi?
