I may not like Trump, but Trump helped us leave this war, Trump negotiated with the Taliban our withdrawal... which allowed Biden to withdraw with very little attacks from the right that held any weight at all, hard for the right to attack Biden for ending the war when Trump signed the deal

It’s amazing to watch so many people act like some how a burden has been lifted off them with the US’s final exit from Afghanistan.
Very few actually bore the burden of this war, and due too the fiscal ineptitude of the “pay for nothing” GOP, we didn’t pay for this war, even though our kids, or even grandkids will be stuck with the bill.
As usual, the public is Johnny come lately with their attention span.
The chaotic ending of this 20 year travesty turned partisan **** flinging contest as expected, which pretty much guarantees our inept political class will learn nothing from this fruitless endeavor.
It only took 26 years for the painful lessons of Vietnam too fade from our government’s memory, so we might as well start start counting down till the next foreign policy blunder.
Before everyone starts throwing corny recommendations of the the Nobel prize for Biden, I would suggest that you remember that we still have troops in Iraq, as well as the US military illegally occupying Northern Syria, which is already making a humanitarian crisis even worse.

I do not like Biden, I think he failed completely in this retreat. Even so I believe in blaming people for what they do not what political sides find useful in their hate filled rhetoric.

Bush failed by turning a revenge mission into an incoherent, doomed to failure "Nation Building".

Obama failed by doing what Nixon did, trying to create a "Peace with honor" exit. As if that was going to happen. It only prolonged our involvement.

Biden failed in executing Trump's plan. He was likely correct that the plan needed more time, extending that time. But he was a damned fool believing the paper army of the Afghans would stand up to the Taliban for three months. That was an impossibility.

Six months ago we should have begun evacuating our friends and our citizens. By force if necessary. Thinking we'd have months to get them out was idiotic. It was Trump's plan, but Biden had all the time needed to fix it.

This is called "Nuance". The understanding that these situations are vastly more complex than which political party people belong to.

 

He left all the **** there, he could have taken it back when he went from 14000 to 3000 troops, did he do that?
