I'm not sure what you're asking about. General things Trump did to improve things, or election-related stuff (of which there was little he could do).

As for the "dreadful" electoral college, it's there to protect small states from the tyranny of the large. Not a mystery, you can learn about it on wiki.

One-man-one-vote is just one part of an election, but if it's compromised, the whole election becomes suspect. As we saw in 2020, and are seeing in New Jersey in 2021 with endless ballots being "found' after the election.

I'm not. I'm asking other posters if they even know what it is.

Public education is what made this country, and allowed immigrants to be assimilated. The GOP has to be on board with investing in education. I think that the GOP demagoguery concerning public education is part of a broader strategy to win elections and still not offer Americans anything.

I guess this means you swallowed whole the Trump's Big Lie.

Face facts ... folks didn't buy what Trump was selling. Look at Sanders' liberals who think everyone would agree with them if they weren't brainwashed. They're must as wrong as you are.

I’m not going to discuss anything with you, I’ll ignore you’re posts in the future. Hopefully, I won’t need to put you on the forum ignore list.

extending public benefits for engaging in strictly private activity is a special right.
the problem is that "progressive" brain has no ability to understand that.

I do wonder if everyone who had a mustache was given a special amount of money every year, whether people with mustache's would be more likely to vote for the political party who supported that policy...

Interesting. I suppose we could say the Revolutionary War was caused by transatlantic courier by ship. I’ve never heard that theory, I’ll give it some thought.

Uh oh. The Trump Big Lie is swallowed whole, again.

    https://www.reuters.com/article/uk-factcheck-biden-condemned-antifa-idUSKBN2712ZA

"Multiple high-profile Democrats have spoken out against violence at Black Lives Matter protests, sparked by the death of George Floyd at the hands of a Minneapolis police officer in May.

On May 31, the fifth night of demonstrations, former Vice President Joe Biden, the party’s presumptive nominee, wrote in a statement that protesting police brutality is “right and necessary” and the “American response."

“But burning down communities and needless destruction is not,” Biden wrote. “Violence that endangers lives is not. Violence that guts and shutters businesses that serve the community is not.”

Moderators should be able to participate in the forum without having their position being part of the exchanges with or about them. I realize you're answering someone else.

    https://www.federalregister.gov/doc...xecutive-orders-concerning-federal-regulation

All those executive orders Biden revoked on his first day in the office were intended to fight bureaucracy and corruption. Funny thing is that in 4 years that government officials were forced to repeal at least 2 regulations for every new one they have never run out of useless regulations to repeal.

It makes sense to me. With information travelling much faster, there is more room for a quick escalation and less time for diplomacy to work out a compromise.

Certainly. I agree. Not sure about the civil war though. With rail communication I’m not convinced the war wouldn’t have happened without telegraph. Probably sped things up a little. Do you think there could have been any diplomatic solution to the civil war?

To be honest I don't see any. Probably this whole telegraph thing is a BS. I just find it interesting how in the same way that social media are being blamed for the political divide in our modern societies the telegraph has been blamed before for the start of the Civil War in America.

According to religion the first motive for the murder was envy. Which makes sense.

According to science, people started killing each other in big numbers when the first settlements came up and the institution of property appeared. Which also makes sense.

    Robert Heinlein famously said:

“You can have peace. Or you can have freedom. Don't ever count on having both at once.”

Which is if true, sounds kind of depressing to me...

    Good point.
Yeh, it is depressing. It means there is always a demographic wanting to take freedom from others.

You're trying to get us to...

    A3E47143-3BD9-428D-9ED3-F040373B5B13.gif

... over the rioting in a few cities. It doesn't threaten the rest of us to the extent necessary for us to intervene with federal forces. There is no widespread conspiracy to deny citizens' their rights as there was in the South in the 1950s when Eisenhower used federal forces in Little Rock.

We have a few cities where the local and state government are unwilling to maintain the rule of law. That's it.

What would be the rationale for interfering with the state governments of Washington and Oregon who did not ask for federal help?
These people should be identified, arrested, prosecuted and punished.
These people don't have the power to do this stuff.
    Irrelevant name calling.
These people should be identified, arrested, prosecuted and punished.
    You're mudslinging.
    Sticks and stones.
They have every right to use legal means to have them removed.

A lot of those statues were erected during Jim Crow to intimidate blacks. Whites moved to the suburbs, so blacks voted to get rid of the statues. Democracy. You want to put up status of traitors? Put them up in your suburb.
Oh, boo hoo. This lying turkey...

... bears false witness nearly every time he opens his mouth.
Kwitchurbellyachin'. Rioters should be identified, arrested, prosecuted and punished.

They can namecall all they like (you do!) if they obey the law.
The jackasses who invaded the Capitol should be identified, arrested, prosecuted and punished.
should be identified, arrested, prosecuted and punished.

I would like to see us develop a national ID along the lines of the Nexus Pass so we can keep track of who is entitled to work here, even as day labor.
