Your cost of living argument does not hold water. Sure home prices are higher in the nicer parts of the country. After all, one does get what one pays for. If one does not want to live with the riff raff, one has to pay to live in a nicer area. Beyond home prices, prices across the country are rather consistent. A McDonalds' hamburger and a bottle of Coca-Cola cost pretty much the same across the country. Smart phones, perhaps the hottest consumer product of the past decade cost the same, no matter the state one lives in. Amazon make no distinction, as to location, for pricing. You can't possibly think that the standard of living in places like Mississippi and West Virginia are better than California. After all the poverty in those states should counteract the higher cost of living in nicer states, by your logic, right?

Nuh uh is not a valid argument. Not only does California lead the nation in poverty, your example only reveals you have an understanding of the cost of living being a main factor, and that the gap between the rich and poor is widening.

If you bothered to research before posting, you would find that food costs at McDonalds is not the same in every state. (I would never eat fast food)

California not only beats MS and WV in poverty, it beats all other states. This is not my logic; it is a basic fact. The claim that life is better under Dem control is false. Don't forget, we also have more revenue and higher taxes than any other state, so these results make the levels of irresponsibility by our elected officials even more egregious.

Calling people "riff raff" further reveals how dems view those they claim to care about.

Your article is from 2017. A lot has changed in the last 5 years.

Both Reagan and Nixon were governors of California, as well as Arnold Schwarzenegger. All Republicans. Devin Nunes and Kevin McCarthy come from California. California is far from a liberal oasis. LA has long been burdened by a corrupt Police force led by conservative police chiefs. I'm sure the attacks on California are due to right wing propaganda. Sean Hannity says horrible things about California, does he not? It is mostly over environmental issues. California has some rather stringent air pollution regulations. The Heritage Foundation was begun in great part over Joe Coors' objection to environmental regulations.

There are states that are structurally quite liberal. Places like Colorado and Washington, with Oregon coming along. Colorado has one of the best educational systems in the country and has one of the highest rates of educational attainment. Washington is not far behind. All three states have been leading the country economically for decades now.

You really believe those gangs care where the propaganda is coming from? They have found a good deal. The attacks are due to lack of police funding and catch and release policies of California prosecutors. California was warned and now it is happening.

Once again, you are ignoring the cost of living. Supporting Democrats requires closing ones eyes and ignoring results.

    https://www.businessinsider.com/california-has-highest-poverty-level-in-the-us-census-bureau-2021-9

In addition to this fact, income inequality is rising, schools rank with the lowest, infrastructure is crumbling, homelessness is out of control, and CA cities were on the brink of insolvency before Covid.

You are certainly right to criticize Republicans for their failures, but if you are a Democrat, you are not pointing with clean hands. While both parties cause their own brand of harm to society, your party is worse.

Benedict Donald could have done much more to stem the COVID tide, but chose to obfuscate the seriousness of the pandemic because he thought it would affect his reelection chances negatively. IF he would have "done his job" and got out in front of the disease instead of "trying to keep his job", who knows what opportunity cost in lost lives and economic hardship he caused.

No, government economic policies often get in the way of growth and do not fix declines

It cannot be otherwise. Inflation results from government expanding the money supply Spending trillions that are not available to spend will expand the money supply. The alternative is debt and government can't afford that kind of debt so it will monetize it thereby expanding the money supply. Expanding the money supply dilutes the value of the existing money. The resulting inflation of such a bill would be severe indeed.

No conservatives are not opposed to regulation unless it hurts the economy without providing a benefit. While not conservatives, the management of Facebook is currently running ads on TV begging for regulations. The 2008 recession resulted primarily from affording credit to people not able to manage the debt

Obviously you will need some better examples.

Even Biden has admitted there is no federal response to the covid pandemic so maybe you should put the word Benedict in front of Biden’s name as well.

I don't watch Hannity and am not defending Republicans. CA is merely a preview of what to expect under Dem control. If you really want to zoom in on liberal petri dishes, you can look at Los Angeles and San Francisco. Both have a significant sample size to evaluate results. I grew up and live in Los Angeles and have seen a lot of changes. CO, WA, and OR have a lot of catching up to do, but are still heading in the same direction.

Im glad you added pollution to the discussion. CA is far from leading the way on environmental issues. I have an app on my phone so I know which days not to exercise outdoors. We have some of the most toxic beaches. Liberals dump pesticides/herbicides on their lawns and commute in their single occupancy vehicles and stop for some drive-thru on the way. They only care about the environment if it doesn't require any more effort than slapping a "Save the Planet" sticker on their bumper.

I am far from Republican and would be okay with paying the highest taxes if it created the thriving society dems talk about while campaigning.

No, that's NOT what President Biden is saying. But, to your point, every National effort to deal with COVID by President Biden has been hamstrung by conservatives.

That is exactly what he said almost word for word. But as far as being hamstrung I agree, however I agree with the reasoning the republicans done it as well. I believe our constitution protects us from the federal government having that kind of power. I do however think the state has more power in that arena.

I agree to an extent but on a realistic side of the debate I think the majority of the reason is because retirement investment groups are purchasing them for their portfolios

Of course it is a supply and demand issue. Rents are high and interest rates are low. My niece is paying more for a 2 BR apartment than I pay in mortgage.
