Covid riot in Europe - video

It’s looking like some Europeans don’t like having their freedoms taken away, protested and paid the price by being beaten.

In most of them clips in that vid, you see the police walking backwards, while the protesters move forward and start being violent.
In the US those people would have been shot.

 

this is such a waste of time...I've seen worse at kicking out time on a Saturday night in Rochester high street....I think you need to change the title to a bunch of nutters having a bit of a chuckle with the Bill...

I am enjoying this. Those nutcases are the spreaders of covid and are filling up hospitals all over the place,... so other people can't be treated. And they are not voicing their concerns. They are rioting. And rioters must be dealt with. The vid shown are rioters attacking cops. They would have been shot in the US. I guess Europeans are a bit soft... but the beating is nice to see.

 

We live in interesting times. I feel like this whole COVID thing will make it into the history books.

This will be the part which shows how people will only accept so much of being told what to do before they rebel.

Of course in the olden days this type of police control was accepted and normal. The protesters being trouble makers who get what they deserve.

 

I have mixed feeling about this one.

On the one hand, people should have the right to peaceably assemble and protest.
On the other hand, people should not expect to be able to have all their freedoms in the biggest cities with the highest population densities.

Residents of Amsterdam really love their freedom (well, in some ways; look at the legalization of cannabis and prostitution). But it's also a very big city with a high population density, one of the highest in Europe.

Must bring you some demented pleasure seeing police attack people who "won't get with the program".

Ironically, engaging with these protesters and attacking and arresting them is far more likely to lead to a situation where the virus can spread. But got to instill that fear, right?

 

Just to let everyone know, these people are not on the Right.
The media and grassroots political organizations in the Netherlands has everyone all riled up against the police. They adopted the ideas for this movement from the US, even though it's entirely artificial and doesn't really have any contextual basis in Europe's society or history.
Of course once you drive your population into a revolutionary fervor of enthusiasm, you start to lose some control.
Same thing sort of happened in Seattle in 1999.

I see in most of them clips that the rioters are advancing towards the cops who are retreating.
So that's rioters attacking cops, not cops attacking "protesters".

Gotta love the ones who act as if the “Klan” is running rampant in the US. I spent several decades of my life living between NC, SC and GA. Never once seen, nor heard of any “Klan” member, but that’s not what CNN tells you. FBI estimates a few thousand Klan members in the entire United States. A population getting closer to 400 million with around 2k “Klansmen” living out in the woods in po-dunk nowhere. For the past fifteen to eighteen months there have been protests by small splinter groups, fifty here, a hundred there, sometimes a few thousand. Didn't read anything about Vienna, did you? However, the counter demonstrations which take part in hundreds of thousands of living rooms are usually millions strong.
I'm kind of surprised that none of our well-informed yank friends has commented "Europe is burning" yet. You know, their typical reaction when they see a burned out car in a backstreet in Paris. Let's provide some info for our ill-infomrmed friends. The Netherlands are in a strict lockdown, and will be until mid-January, due to Omicron which is spreading extremely fast there. The country is one of the most densely polulated ones in the world, perfect breeding ground for a virus. Vast majority of people are fine with that, some, a small minority, are not. It's up to the Dutch to handle their affairs, they don't need unsolicited advice. Nobody said they are beaten by the police because they don't want the vaccines, what nonsense. There's more action on an average pre-Corona Saturday afternoon in the English Premier League.
