And everyone of those headlines is an out and out lie. Trump never endorsed bleach as a treatment for covid thise deaths are a consequence of the lies the media told not of anything Trump said. Trump merely asked a question as to whether or not we could use the knowledge that bleach kills covid in helping to find a way to cure covid. He never at any point suggested that drinking bleach would cure covid but you wouldn't know that from listening to our lying alphabet soup media.

Are you kidding? I've criticized the woke left probably dozens of times, maybe over a hundred times, since I've been on this forum. Below is just a sample

Criticism of woke on the gender issue ( I'm pretty much in line with conservatives on that point, including disallowing Transfemales in women's sports, or coming up with a handicapping system, at the minimum).

Criticism of AOC on her use of 'menstruating person'
I love AOC, but she is over the top sometimes, like with her use of the term 'menstruating person' to mean a woman, which she thinks is necessary now because there is no such thing as gender. My gawd, the hard left is killing us

I'm a Bill Maher Liberal ( meaning anti-Woke, as is Maher)

    http://politicalforum.com/index.php...oesnt-run-again.595322/page-7#post-1073146889

    And the list goes on...

Where I am in accord with the hard left is on environmental issues, because I believe erring on that side is safer than erring on the 'do nothing' side.

I am not in accord with the hard left to socialize everything, but I don't think they are, either, when you pin them down. I do believe in UHC.

I do not believe in a 'universal income', or 'government guaranteed jobs' ( what's the point of paying people to do useless work? ).

I do, however, as Milton Friedman does, ( the famous libertarian economist ) believe in a 'negative income tax' to replace welfare, which is making the welfare system more 'free to choose' ( since the gov won't dictate how indiviudals will spend their money ).

What Trump, did, in fact say, was to 'inject disinfectants'. Which is about as bad.

And then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in one minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning, ---Trump

So, perhaps 'drinking bleach' is a strawman, but the thing is, it's a strawman from a lousy idea in the first place, so yours is not really a good counter argument.

But, if Trump could stop for a minute and think about what he is saying. A more articulate, more competent president, who is a layperson on science, positing this idea, might have inquired about the idea of running blood through a filter, of some kind, such as peroxide, which is non toxic ( in small amounts, as I understand it) , as a lay person suggesting, admitting one knows little about such things. However, a wise president would make such a suggestion in private, for the possibility of being shot down by knowledgeable persons on the subject, making him look stupid. But, Trump has no sense of the consequences of his words. This is one of the many reaons he is unfit for the office.

This is the problem with Trump, his articulatory ability is well below a standard we should expect of the president of the united states.

There are huge problems with the Dems, but the GOP have become almost completely disconnected from science.

Don't take my word for it. Go check on a forum of professional scientists and ask them what they think.

So AOC is the new norm for Dems? Might want to take a look in the mirror.

Just because people are idiots does not mean that Trump told anyone to drink bleach. Of course the media did spin what he said so if you want to blame anyone blame them.

The pandemic, the war, etc., have caused some bad stats for Biden, but asking dems their opinion of it doesn't mean they are going to vote republican.

I wouldn't count your chickens just yet.

In the question, he made a suggestion, the kind a moron would make.

but, apparently, that fact eludes you.

You forgot the question mark. Trump was asking a question. Whether you or others think it was a stupid question is irrelevant. He asked a question. He did not tell anyone to inject themselves with bleach. He did not tell anyone to drink bleach. He asked a question of an expert. Which is generally what people do.

Oh wait. Trump wasn't articulate enough to be President??? Have you listened to Biden lately, or Kamala for that matter. The former can't speak in complete sentences, and the latter is becoming known for her incoherent, inarticulate, nonsensical blathering on any subject, and her wicked witch of the west cackling.

IOW, Trump was right. And that's just wrong! ;-)

    dĭs″ĭn-fĕk′tənt
    noun
    1. An agent, such as heat, radiation, or a chemical, that destroys, neutralizes, or inhibits the growth of disease-carrying microorganisms.

Massive overreach, in your statement, to include all of, "the progressive woke left," though I guess it would depend on how a person would define that. Based on your comparing it to the "Trump right," I would assume that you are not just referring to "the Squad," or something similar. So, if you intend your criticism-- that it is "the same," as the Trump right-- to apply to a sizable number, or majority of Democrats (which would be the analog), I'll point to the clear need for examples, to illustrate your conclusion. Personally, though, I think you are making a false equivalence, if you are comparing the present day Democratic & Republican Parties.

Even as far as into what "utter nonsense," these groups are "pushing their respective political parties," is something that calls for specifics, in order to rise to the level of being an argument. For example, is Universal Healthcare, something you are considering as utter nonsense? What about affordable, available, child care? The tax credit for low-income families, that was being sent in monthly checks, which had pulled millions out of poverty? And so on. These things are comparable, in your mind, to reducing voting options, for"security" purposes; to 2020 vote recount efforts; to passing legislation meant to outlaw abortion, through employing vigilante citizen suers; to banning discussion of racism, in schools; and so forth?

That is certainly a valid point, that Maher only took aim at a few individuals, rather than the Party, as a whole. Yet I think his point, revolved around what one might infer about the Party, writ large, from the types of behavior, & statements which are not bringing the kind of condemnation from the rest of the GOP, as had much tamer faux pas, just over a decade ago. Clearly, the seeming acceptance of the antics, which were his focus, was meant not just as an indictment of Republican political Party structure, but of the Party's voter base.

So long as it remains the party of Trump, yes. Of course. 2022 will let us know if there's anything left to salvage of the party.
