The same people who fight to keep human trafficking and drugs flowing across our borders: leftists.

I think it's pretty clear on these forums who supports using illegal drugs and it's not conservatives.

If by "steal" resources you mean buy them from other countries who want to sell them but can't because of their local warlords fighting the government over control, then sure.

If it wasn't for the US, more of these countries would be eating dirt cookies. In 2022 many of them have no grasp of agriculture and they can't even provide themselves clean water.

Most of these countries and cultures existed before ours did. It's not our fault that while we were developing the technology that feeds them now they were still cutting peoples hearts out and tossing them down pyramids in order to generate rain and make sure the sun comes up tomorrow.

The most disturbing thing I've personally read on this formula issue .. is PREGNANT women freaking out because they "just don't know how they'll feed the baby." Worse still, grandmothers-to-be going on missions to find formula .. apparently determined to set their daughters up to fail at breastfeeding.

Imagine not even being a mother yet, and you've already decided you won't feed your baby. Nightmare stuff.

I think you know nothing about babies. And since most parents do not own a cow, I assume you are suggesting that young infants can and should just drink regular whole milk. Go find a thread that contains something you know something about. This is a real problem.

And why would any decent parent (of any persuasion) bring a baby on a trip like this and not bring food for it?? Which begs the question: why should we be having to send any baby formula to the border??

This is a short term problem. The big manufacturer should be back online within two weeks and also, no, the pictures were of powdered milk was being sent to the border not formula in mass, FOXNEWS was in full misinformation mode. FOXNEWS is useless unless you want to misinform.

It is estimated that the numbers annually for immigrant babies under one is measured in the hundreds and the amount of formula could clearly have already been in stock since it's such a small amount particularly considering that most of those mothers were probably breast feeding their babies. In 2020 there were over three million babies born in the US. If the ALL the mothers crossing the border were bottle feeding their babies (extraordinarily unlikely as those babies were eating before arriving at the border) then they would consume 8 hours worth of the annual US consumption. It's more likely measured in seconds of the annual production consumed.

To abandon our humanity for such a tiny, tiny thing is obscene.

That is under normal circumstances. Normally we don't even make it to 900k illegals annually. Last year we reached over 2 million. That is a massive increase.

Even if you double, triple, quadruple the numbers it makes no difference It's still a tiny tiny amount and FOXNEWS lied their behinds off to make it an issue.

Haven't seen the reporting of it from FOX. I saw the reporting from Mother Jones when another poster made a thread on this before this thread was made.

And what to you is a tiny amount? And is that "tiny amount" worth letting the same amount of American babies starve? Where's your "humanity" question fall in that case?

AMERICAN BABIES ARE NOT STARVING BECAUSE OF THIS! They're not even going hungry. Shame on you for even suggesting that. 50 years ago were there even baby formulas? Did babies starve until formula came along? This is a short term thing that is being resolved and will be a short term issue. The worst part is that because of reactionary responses, hording of new production will occur and price gouging as well because of that. FOXNEWS should offer to pay for the price increases.

I'll try once more. No, they don't want homemade formula because of risks by stupid people adding stupid things.

Cow and goat's milk has been used by mothers for hundreds of years. It still is in fact. Perhaps not as effective as formula but still a wonderful stop gap. If you let your baby starve to death then I would assume your mother may have made her own secret formula.

Do you have comprehension issues? Should I assume you have a handicap and adjust for it? I was trying to respond to you as if you were an adult, was I wrong to do so?

Actually, liberals want to bolster border security at the places where human trafficking and drug smuggling take place. Not waste resources on a monument to stupidity by building an ineffectual wall.

Just weeks ago, President Joe Biden signaled a messaging shift on immigration that reflects the rhetoric many moderate Democrats have been using for months. “If we are to advance liberty and justice, we need to secure the border and fix the immigration system,” he told Congress during his State of the Union. “We can do both.”

He went on to detail new border technology to detect drug smuggling and joint patrols with Mexico to catch human traffickers, before mentioning a pathway to citizenship for so-called Dreamers, undocumented immigrants brought to the U.S. as children.

They tell you not to make your own formula. Period. Use cow or goat milk. It's fine for this short duration. Hundreds of millions of kids, perhaps billions, have done so in the past. Formula is far more convenient and marginally better but you can get by with it for awhile.

You are talking to the wrong people. The idiots in the White House do not tell you to use cow or goat milk. They are the ones who should be telling people what to do after they left them with no alternatives.

Because it's not perfect. People will have forgotten how to warm it properly and may rely on it permanently when formula is is fact the better option. This is a short term solution to a short term problem.

I have seen discussions on FB where young mothers are practically in a panic. Older heads are telling them they can use cows milk, but they only see what the White House is telling them, which is don't do it yourself.

Yet, with that wonderful contribution to this discussion, you failed to provide anything that disproves anything in my post.

I dont have to disprove it, the burden of proof is on you, which you have not done.

To Stillblues defense, formula in the DRC may consist of fresh goat milk, shared titty milk from a neighbor or monkey milk, who knows ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I dont have Christians. I hate Christianity.

    Not the same thing.

All religions are pure garbage, and the people who follow them are weak. But that doesnt mean I hate them.
