Whatever you think conservatives are against, they don't silence their opponents. They use words to counter them. That's not true for the left. The only exception to this rule is children. We have historically limited exposure to certain things for children until they are old enough.

Conservatives would go speak in an auditorium that the leftist snowflakes didn't have to attend, yet the lefist-students would work to shut it down. They aren't required to listen but that really isn't the problem here.

Where were these people when disinformation was being disseminated on FB during Trump's 2016 campaign.

That junk aside, their threats are as stupid as it comes.

These liberal executives and management team had a drastic inflation of self-worth and personal agenda to impose. They clearly conspired to manipulate information and impose personal bias in censorship on the platform in an effort to sway the masses.

I sincerely hope they are now sitting on unemployment and crying snowflake tears to fall asleep.

But. Unless the government told them to do it, which would make the government official liable, there is no law preventing them from manipulating and lying on the private platform.

Let this be a lesson though regarding the support of indoctrination and manipulation in our education and media sectors by lefties. I hope every one of them loses their job.

I remember in the not too distance past nearly every liberal on this site saying "Twitter didn't censor anything along political lines, its all Republicans imagination"... which has now transformed into "... but they didn't break the law!"

You mean how they changed their own guidelines to avoid censoring Trumps hate speech toward the squad?

Maybe, and this is just a theory, Trump is a braying ass that can’t stop himself from violating Twitter’s TOS and they cut him all the slack they could as he was president.

Maybe if Trump had not acted like a petty 12 racist, sexist kid on Twitter he could have stuck around

The government told them the laptop was "hacked" material, a repeat of 2016 hacked DNC emails by foreign nations seeking to influence the election. I see little difference in government telling them to censor the material and government purposely deceiving them to believe they need to make the decision to censor the material.

I always found it ironic that the last breath on Twitter from Trump was telling the 1/6 protesters to "Go home with love and in peace. Remember this day forever."

Which party is leading the “fight” to rein-in “Big-tech” by trying to threaten twitter’s executives with gaol?

    There’s the authoritarianism, right here,
So does a campaign ad that says Vote for [candidate], which is protected by the First Amendment, you can’t jail someone for using their speech the way that they want to, even if you disagree with them, that’s not how this works!

Of course, Twitter can censor anything they want to censor. They just can't collude or conspire with government to do it. But if they do, it's not Twitter that should suffer consequence, it is those in government who conspired with them to violate people's rights that should. Partnerships between government and private industry, where they are necessary, should be highly regulated and thoroughly audited annually to be 100% sure that government actors are not using private industry to end-run around the Constitution.

The solution seems simple to me. ALL these social media companies should be given the choice to be Common Carriers or Publishers. If they are Publishers they have full control AND liability for the content. If they are common carriers like the phone company, they have no control over the content or liability for it. Other than a duty to not facilitate violations of law and reasonable measures to prohibit it.

Our daily reminder the Dems have actual no interest in defending free speech and only care about pushing their agenda and silencing the rest.

Well, those liberals that actually take positions and engage in debate.

The liberals here that just troll the board pathetically and tattle tail to the mods when they stir the pot didn't.
