For most states yes. But in some states, like Nevada, it is automatically mailed to the address on the voter registration card. And there are only 4 or 5 states that do this. But the Trump acolytes wanted NO mail-in ballot, not even "absentee" ballots to be considered. That was in Arizona, Florida, and Pennsylvania during and after the 2020 election.

As president, Trump wanted to allay fears of Covid by using the 'expertise' of the NIH/WHO/CDC (who didn't have expertise on the subject).

Like I posted, your post is a strawman argument.

As a sidenote, if Trump had made those Covid presidential guidelines with no other input from epidemiology as you falsely claim, you wouldn't have been reassured (to put it mildly:roll:), so, it's obvious that even you thought that 'Trump's Covid guidelines' were influenced by the 'experts' of the NIH/CDC/WHO. Again, your post is a strawman argument.

As I was an active participant in validating ballots with actual experience on the subject, I don't want any ballots mailed to addresses on voter roles since voter roles are notoriously inaccurate.

To help prevent voter fraud, a ballot should only be mailed to someone who requests it.

Most states do that anyway except for the four or five. If you feel that badly about it, move to one of those states, like Nevada, and try to get the legislature to change it. But whether one requests it or not, the idea of mail-in ballots, either by absentee or universal, the voter also has the option of either turning it into the voting location, in a drop box or mailing it in. And if one mails it in, there is no guarantee that it will be received timely if the Post Office loses it. Even conservative states like Texas have rejected overnight mail to the elections division in the county to have the mail tracked in order to guarantee it is delivered timely. But Texas legislature and most conservative legislatures are willing to get rid of drop-in boxes altogether because of some conspiracy theory from a movie and the internet for some odd reason. And that defeats the whole purpose of mail-in ballots, doesn't it?

Lets say a ballot gets mailed to a wrong address, what are you thinking is happening?

Do you think that this happens often enough that IF someone who got the ballot erroneously, returns the ballot, it's enough to change the outcome of an election?

Do you think that all of the people getting this ballot erroneously are part of this giant conspiracy to throw the election?

Do you think there are people that are putting out ads for anyone who got a ballot in the mail to turn them in for this cabal to use them?

I think there was such a dearth of validation of ballots before they were dropped into ballot boxes due to pandemic rules that many accepted and counted ballots could've been illegitimate...And no one would be the wiser...Certainly not state precinct officials since their only way of validating ballots is to validate them before they're dropped into the ballot box...BTW, state precinct officials were asked to validate state precinct totals for the 2020.

Your Trump hate shines much brighter than any logic you may attempt to impart.

Having worked for Jeffco in CO I know the procedure is to do signature verification for all mail in ballots. I suspect all states do it.
