While other Republican candidates have been embracing what is called retail politics, shaking hands, personal involvement with voters, walking in parades, kissing babies -- that kind of stuff -- the former Republican President and leading contender for 2024 shuns the personal approach. With his history of criminal indictments, participation in the Jan. 6 insurrection, and being declared a sexual predator in a recent lawsuit, Trump is scared to death of what people may ask or say when up close and personal.

Trump's psyche and monstrous ego far prefer large crowds. Under the circumstances, can you blame him?

CNN reports, "As America celebrated its independence, while divided on the true nature of its values, it also braced for a toxic presidential campaign likely to deepen its political trauma and again push the election system to its limits.

"Donald Trump, for example, put on a July Fourth weekend show of force, highlighting his early dominance of the Republican race for president and the stiff task his rivals face in trying to thwart his bid to win their party’s nomination for the third time in a row.

"The former commander-in-chief drew a massive crowd at a rally in the key early state of South Carolina on Saturday, which reverberated with his false claims about election interference and over his indictment for allegedly mishandling classified documents after he left office. But the raucous event in Pickens also showed the enduring power of his personality and feral political appeal to GOP base voters. And, coupled with his lead in primary polling, it should be a warning to Democrats that the most disruptive president in modern history has a realistic chance of a White House reprise that would likely be even more tumultuous than his first term."

It should be noted that Trump's base voters rarely speak of him. It is as if they are ashamed of their adoration, or they are unable to explain why they support the former President.

In any case, we know their support for Trump is silent admiration.

That is very strange, but there it is.

It is hard to believe, but a former President of the United States wrote this -- a former Republican President who has been criminally indicted twice. Charges are pending regarding his leading role in the failed attempt to overthrow our elected government on Jan. 6, 2021.

This is what Donald Trump wrote.

"As my Poll numbers go higher & higher, the Communists, Marxists, & Fascists get more & more CRAZY with their ridiculous Indictments & Election Interference plans & plots, all controlled by an out of control, & very corrupt, DOJ/FBI. They have WEAPONIZED Law Enforcement in America at a level not seen before."

"Deranged Jack Smith, who is a sick puppet for A.G. Garland & Crooked Joe Biden, should be DEFUNDED & put out to rest," he continued. "Republicans must get tough or the Dems will steal another Election. MAGA!"

"President Trump famously declared during his 2016 campaign that he loved the “poorly educated” because voters with lower levels of schooling delivered an overwhelming share of votes to him," the conservative Washington Times.

America's real problem is that millions of Trump's followers have a mindset that approves of this kind of language from a former President.

That is why Trump wrote it. He was writing to his many fans. Currently, he is running for President.

Despite the fact that Trump lost 60 out of 61 court cases and was rejected by the Supreme Court, each confirming the lost reelection, despite the fact that Trump has offered no evidence supporting his view that he won, the Republican base is enamored with him and believe he won reelection.

Strangely, they are silent about Trump in discussion groups, including this thread.

There is a reason why Trump's followers still have that unenlightened view despite stark reality.

Actually, there are two possible reasons.

First, they are ignorant of stark reality and they prefer it that way. They don't take the time to learn the facts surrounding an issue -- in this case, the 2020 Presidential election. They are uninformed. They don't know, and they don't want to know. Simply adoring the former President is all they need to know. This would explain their reticence on discussion forums.

The other group consists of anarchists. They support Trump because he is a loose cannon, and he is responsible for tearing America and its government apart. Trump's judges are replacing the legislative and executive branches of our government. This group of Republicans could not be happier. Of course, they want to keep their true allegiance, anarchism, secret, and that would explain their reticence on discussion forums.

As explained above, there are two groups of Republicans who are supporting Trump. There is the group mentioned here, and the second group consists of rebellious anarchists.

The anarchists seem to know what they are doing, but the problem with the first group is their ignorance of reality. Consequently, this group makes up its own reality. They say things they want to be true, but are not.

This can be a problem in discussions. The best to handle it is to ignore fantasies.

To argue with fantasy is a total waste of time.

He was impeached twice. No doubt about that. But he didn't lead an attempt to overthrow government. Trump is a terrible choice for President but Biden is worse one.

Too much credit. Democrats these days are increasing totalitarian asshats whose plans for the future include earth with half or less of its current population, and that half mostly locked into there own little enclaves unable to go any where their legs can't carry them.

Again, not a single thread from a Republican concerning Trump.

Trump Republicans even lack the capacity to be embarrassed. Should they choose our next President?

The DOJ has spent over $9.2 million investigating former President Donald Trump!

That is a wise investment in America's future.

During his first tour of duty in the White House, Trump was impeached twice but was freed by Senate Republicans, rejected American intelligence at Helsinki while accepting Putin's version of Russian interference in our election, removed the ban on Iranian nuclear weapons, embarrassed our country by going to North Korea to shake hands with Kim Jung Un with whom he shared "love letters" (Trump's phraseology), and counted the Chinese dictator, Xi Jinping, as one of his friends while angering our friends in the EU.

After leaving office, things got worse for the former President. He has been criminally indicted twice, with another criminal indictment for attempting to overthrow our elected government most likely coming soon. A recent lawsuit declared him a sexual predator, and he is facing another criminal indictment in Georgia possibly in August.

The DOJ has invested $9.2 million so far to prevent this man from becoming our President again.

CNN explains, "The Justice Department has spent over $9.2 million investigating former President Donald Trump since the appointment of special counsel Jack Smith in November, according to the first public accounting of his expenses.

"Smith’s office, leading the high-profile investigations into Trump, has spent more than $5.4 million between November and March 31, the Justice Department said. Other DOJ entities have spent an additional $3.8 million to support Smith.

"Smith is investigating efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election and prosecuting former Trump for allegedly retaining classified information after he left the White House."

Ask yourself why Biden supporters are silent and you might find your answer. Far easier to overlook shortcomings on someone you like. Do you really think the Democrats would be so silent if the Stuff coming out about Biden and Hunter would be the Trump family? If cocaine was found in Trump's White House would CNN have anchors making jokes about it? You know the answer and so do I, the I am morally superior than you BS doesn't fly with me.

I just love it when Trump Republicans help prove my point. They just say things, and truth is immaterial. Convenience to their mindset is all that matters.

There is a thread devoted to our President and related matters. It is entitled The Era of rivalry, Biden vs. Trump and their respective parties.

Trump Republicans are going to love this. Trump is bring back Mike Flynn!

Trump appointed Flynn to the critical position of national security adviser in 2016.

CNN reports, "Flynn didn’t last long. He lied to then-Vice President Mike Pence about a conversation he had with the Russian ambassador before the Trump administration had assumed office, and Trump fired him after three and half weeks, earning him the distinction of being the shortest-serving US national security adviser ever.

However, At a “ReAwaken America Tour” event held at the Trump National Doral Hotel in Miami in May, where Flynn was the headliner, Trump called in to tell Flynn, “You just have to stay healthy because we’re bringing you back. We’re gonna bring you back.”

Trump and silent Trump Republicans just love pissing people off. It's what they do.

    I am in shock!

Trump wants to delay his trial.

Politico reports, "Donald Trump on Monday called for a lengthy delay before he goes to trial for allegedly hoarding military secrets at his Mar-a-Lago estate, contending that proceeding while he remains a candidate for president would make it virtually impossible to seat an impartial jury.

"Trump’s eagerness to push off a trial sets up the first significant test in the unprecedented, ultra-high-profile case for U.S. District Court Judge Aileen Cannon, who is already weighing special counsel Jack Smith’s push for a December 2023 trial, one his team says is strongly in the public interest to begin as soon as possible.

"The defense filing says bluntly that this December is too soon to start a trial and urges Cannon not to set a trial date now, but makes clear that Trump’s lawyers oppose any trial that would start during the presidential election season, which will get underway in earnest late this year. Assuming Trump wins the Republican nomination, the defense position appears to urge nearly a year of delay beyond what prosecutors are proposing."

Trump announced his candidacy unusually early -- November 2022 -- a phenomenal two years ahead of time. Did Trump announce his candidacy ahead of time because he knew he had broken our nation's laws and would be facing multiple indictments as is the case now?

Is he that bad? Guess so. His supporters aren't saying a thing. They don't want to talk about him.

The Trump appointed federal judge at one point gave Trump virtually everything he wanted. She was overruled and received a slap on the wrist by the appeals court which consisted other Trump appointed judges.

This time Trump didn't get much.

ABC reports, "The federal judge overseeing the case involving former President Donald Trump's handling of classified documents after leaving office has agreed to delay an upcoming hearing in the case.

"Judge Aileen Cannon agreed Tuesday to delay a hearing involving how to handle classified material in special counsel Jack Smith's prosecution of Trump and his valet, Walt Nauta.

"The hearing, originally scheduled for Friday, July 14, will now occur on Tuesday, July 18."

Apparently, young Judge Cannon, a rookie on the district court, learned something. Why a rookie was assigned to a historical criminal trial involving a former President, a first, is a mystery.

A criminal indictment involving Trump for his role in leading the Jan. 6 insurrection attempt is likely to happen soon. For reasons they are unable to explain, his supporters will welcome the criminal indictment.

Since Trump has been indicted, his popularity among Republican voters who want him as our next President has increased.

CNN reports, "For months, federal prosecutors have brought witnesses in front of a grand jury in Washington, DC, to investigate efforts by former President Donald Trump and his close allies to reverse the results of the 2020 presidential election.

"The witnesses, several of whom appeared under subpoena, range from low-level aides to Trump’s own vice president. There are also several key witnesses who have met with prosecutors for interviews that could help special counsel Jack Smith build his case.

"Former Vice President Mike Pence testified in April – the first time in modern history that a vice president has been compelled to testify about the president he served beside.

"Pence testified for over five hours and was likely asked to recount his direct conversations with Trump leading up to January 6, 2021, and Trump’s unsuccessfully attempt to pressure him into blocking the 2020 election’s result.

"Mark Meadows, Trump’s former chief of staff, appeared before the grand jury in June.

"As chief of staff, Meadows was in the middle of Trump’s efforts to overturn the election in the two months between Election Day and Joe Biden’s inauguration. Meadows pushed Justice Department officials to investigate debunked claims of voter fraud and communicated with Trump’s allies about plans to challenge Biden’s win.

"Marc Short, former chief of staff to Pence, testified to the grand jury about the fake elector scheme and the role of Trump lawyers John Eastman and Rudy Giuliani.

"Former Trump White House counsel Pat Cipollone testified twice to the grand jury for several hours. Cipollone repeatedly opposed efforts to overturn the 2020 election."

And several others close to the former President.

“We’re going to walk down to the Capitol, and we’re going to cheer on our brave senators and congressmen and women. You have to show strength, and you have to be strong.”
“When you catch somebody in a fraud, you are allowed to go by very different rules."
“We fight like hell and if you don’t fight like hell, you’re not going to have a country anymore.”
"Now it is up to Congress to confront this egregious assault on our democracy. And after this, we’re going to walk down, and I’ll be there with you. We are going to try and give them the kind of pride and boldness that they need to take back our country.”

Trump seems to think that because he is running for President, he shouldn't be tried for his criminal activity.

Exactly his thinking in November 2022, when he decided to run for President. The only question is, will the young Trump-appointed judge who granted him so many favorable rulings a few months ago fall for Trump's charm again?

The Hill reports, "The decision by former President Trump’s legal team to seek a long delay of his trial in the Mar-a-Lago documents case is injecting fresh volatility into the 2024 presidential race.

"The filing from Trump’s lawyers, which came less than an hour before a Monday night deadline, seeks an indefinite postponement of the trial, which had been scheduled for December.

There is simply no question any trial of this action during the pendency of a Presidential election will impact both the outcome of that election and, importantly, the ability of the Defendants to obtain a fair trial,” they write."

It is a scam, plain and simple, and Trump's silent fans are playing their part. Republican voters have put Trump far ahead of everyone else while ignoring Trump's two criminal indictments.

Will Judge Cannon go along with all this? Who knows? She did once before, and got chided for it by conservative judges on the appeals court.
