Coolidge's policies on race, public transportation, general welfare, along with the issues you mentioned, were progressive for the 1920s compared to those of Harding and Hoover.

I can only imagine what the modest, competent, man of integrity would have thought of his Party's petty, vulgar loudmouth successor.

 

Hoover has been called a “mini Roosevelt.” His programs to beat the Great Depression were similar to Roosevelt’s, only way smaller.

People love to dump on Hoover, but he was a great man in the wrong place. He was a great engineer, but his reserved, somewhat sour looking demeanor was the opposite of Roosevelt’s optimistic glow.

In view of the fact that the Depression started in October 1929, Hoover had only been office for six months when it hit. He was not responsible for people getting into too much debt or inflating the stock market with excessive leverage (borrowing). How do you stop people from borrowing too much? We don’t have answers to this day.

Harding was in the wrong place, and he knew it early on. You can’t say that for losers like Carter and Biden. Give Harding credit though. He had the guts to go to Alabama during the Jim Crow days and tell them he looked forward to the time when the races were equal.

 

Harding was corrupt. Coolidge put a lot of effort cleaning up after him.

Before his presidency, Hoover excelled in the relief he delivered to Europe. and is still honored there, if not here.

 

How typical of Republicans to totally ignore such historic details as the entire Civil War.

'Republican lawyers are back in the news and are bringing disgrace to the party and profession. Even before the indictments in Georgia, it had been widely reported that at least five, and perhaps all six, of former President Donald Trump’s co-conspirators were Republican lawyers. Now in Georgia, we add several lawyers, some familiar and some new, to the list of Trump’s co-defendants.

The one common theme in each of Trump’s indictments is the central role that lawyers play in facilitating, excusing or covering up his malfeasance. They are his enablers, co-conspirators and now co-defendants.

Something has gone tragically wrong in the GOP and in the legal profession. At this pace, CPAC will need to hold its next convention in a prison yard. The Federalist Society may soon have to create a category of membership for the disbarred and criminally convicted.

You might think that the Republican establishment would recoil from these disgraced lawyers, but you would be wrong. As the Washington Post recently reported, “After trying to use the Justice Department to delegitimize the 2020 vote,” one of the co-conspirators in the federal case and co-defendant in Georgia, Jeffrey Clark, “has become a rising legal star for Republicans.”

Jeff DeWit said that the audio was “selectively edited.” He said he chose to resign because he was threatened by members of Kari Lake’s team that more tapes would be released if he did not step down.

Both the Republican party and the Democratic party have a minority part of their so called "base" which cause trouble for the majority part of their respective parties.

 

It is noteworthy how many prominent Republicans, many of whom served in the Trump regime, are openly opposing the sexual abuser facing 91 felony counts.

Of the four hundred or so Christian advisors that he had from 2016 to January of 2021 I am not sure how many were Latter day Saints..... but

I have noticed that Latter day Saints are some of the most humble and most "DIPLOMATIC" Christians that I have ever ran into as I have gone church hopping... which has been my custom since 1990 when I parted ways from the Worldwide Church of God led by Pastor General Herbert W. Armstrong!
