    Probably.

It's a big risk for the GOP.

Had he not lied, he would not have become POTUS.
Ordinary people are not Biden's lawyers, swallowing whatever they're told. Enough of them are telling us that they would have determined that the man is compromised and not voted for him. Even if they are incorrect about what the laptop and Biden's business meetings all actually mean (and I think you have to be very gullible or very partisan on his side to think them incorrect), that was their right to determine for themselves. He is specifically in office because of his lies. He should therefore be impeached and disbarred.

You can pleasure yourself with a fantasy election in which the President's opponent, with his scrupulous fidelity to the truth, won in his delusional "Landslide!" if that is what you need to do.

    Enjoy yourself.

Well some of the state are not obeying the USSC verdict. AL refuse to re-draw the map and I think another state ignoring USSC. TN divided a congressional district into three so African vote get split by 3.

Having said all that , today we have less gerrymandering then 6 years ago. That is much more promising. I am waiting for how Wi will re-do the map.

I think DEMS will come together next year when GOP has a nominee. Right now all the “ talk” are hypothetical, but when Dems/ Liberal realize it is Grandpa Joe vs all the crazy in town, they will come together just like last time.

CNN lists what they think are Trumps 15 most notable lies. None of them seem material and impact the vote. Biden's have.

    https://www.cnn.com/2021/01/16/politics/fact-check-dale-top-15-donald-trump-lies/index.html

I think Trump will get the nomination easily. After that, we'll see if the Left can "fortify" the next election or not. If not, I don't think Biden stands a chance. Course, at their age, I'd think either can drop over dead any moment now.

Amidst all the Loser's multiple criminal indictments, the irrefutable evidence against him, the corroborating sworn testimony of so many who served in his regime, his repugnant attacks upon judges, prosecutors, elected officials, poll workers, and law enforcement officers, the whiny narcissist persists in blatantly lying about the 2000 presidential election, instilling contempt for democracy and law and order among his subservient cult of lickspittles.

Yes, the Republican Party has been thoroughly befouled by him.

Even the most rabid have failed to contrive a single charge against the President in any legal or legislative venue. Just vapid bluster aplenty.

And yet, I don't think anything you write changed anything. What Trump is accused of is either frivolous or people just don't care.
Biden is acting POTUS specifically because he lied. Trump may win 2024 in spite of lying and denying it was raining at his 2016 inaugural.

Biden appears to be a treasonous felon who lied to us, betrayed us, sold us out, collected who knows how much illegal cash and had 51 deep state assets sign the anti laptop document. That he, like Hunter who appears to have done 6 figures in felony tax evasion that the deep state covered for and will have that deep state and our corporate media will cover for, is nothing to celebrate.

There are plenty of GUILTY VERDICTS for those who were involved in the J6 insurrection INCITED by the Traitor-in-Chief.

Some of them have OPENLY ADMITTED that they did so because he told them to do it.

    AMENDMENT XIV

    Section 3.
No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.

The Traitor-in-Chief cannot pretend to have had nothing whatsoever to do with the insurrection given the EVIDENCE that links him to it.

Furthermore he does NOT have to be personally found guilty because his ACTIONS fall under the "given aid orcomfort" clause which is why it "kicks in" and PREVENTS him from holding office again.

Foot dragging until it is too late is another nefarious means to keep gerrymandered districts in place.

If the trials are in progress during the election I am putting my money on a record turnout which is NEVER good news for the GOP.

'The House Freedom Caucus issued a series of ultimatums Monday, outlining the demands it wants met before the right-wing group’s members will support a measure to raise the U.S. debt ceiling and continue to fund the federal government. Among them: an end to the myriad criminal cases pending against former President Donald Trump (and the so-called “weaponization” of the Justice Department against conservatives), as well as ensured passage of a draconian immigration law and an amorphous demand to end “woke” policies in the U.S. military.'

You have been issued your baseless, dogmatic beliefs and you parrot them.

The reality is that Trump has been charged in multiple indictments based upon objective incriminating evidence and the sworn testimony of dozens of Republicans. Regardless of his childish ad hominem tirades against a special counsel, district attorneys, prosecutors, judges, poll workers, and other public servants, juries of his peers, mutually agreeable to prosecuting and defense attorneys, will dispassionately assess the case against him and attempts to refute it, deliberate, and issue verdicts.

I hope that they and their families are protected from the threats of Trump goons who respect neither America's democratic elections not judicial process.

In an unrelated matter, if rabid congressional Republicans can ever contrive any credible charges against the President, I'm sure they will pursue them legally and legislatively.

One of the things that the Republicans should do is to get rid of Donald Trump.

As I see it, the future of the party will come from those who are turning their backs on Trump. They will hold the extremists to account. It won't be an overnight fix, but it will begin when the voters make their choice in 2024.

They're spinless so no can do.
Their concern is their own political futures so every criminal indictment Trump has is irrelevant to them in terms of their support as they continue to try and hold Democrats responsible for their amoral leader's actions.

But will the Trump lies factor into people voting for him?
I concede, I do hear every time the Left throws another indictment at him, his poll numbers go up. But I don't think his lies will get him elected. Biden's did. Which is why I think he should be impeached and disbarred.
I do have to concede, it isn't just the materiality of the lies that are the problem. I buy the narrative that of course, Biden was involved in international influence peddling and sold the US out as hard, fast and often as he possibly could. Without the lies, I think that 18% who said they would not have voted for him had he not lied and they'd known the truth? That is why. It doesn't have to be proven in court. Guilty people get away with crimes. People have the right to know true facts and then make discernments from them.
It is interesting what Biden gets away with now, while in the 1980s, simply stealing a speech from a British Pol was enough to tank his campaign.

I have no idea who "the Left" that you refer to might be. Many prominent conservatives of integrity have condemned Trump for the damage he has inflicted on the nation.

What is your credible source for your claim that "Biden was involved in international influence peddling and sold the US out as hard, fast and often as he possibly could"?

Both the President and Trump are, of course, like every American, innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Trump, based upon documented evidence and the sworn testimony of many Republicans, has been repeatedly indicted, and will be given multiple opportunities to discredit them all.

No one has been able to contrive any such charges against the President.

I'm not trying to have Biden criminally convicted. I want him disbarred for lying about the laptop and not ever speaking to Hunter or his business associates. That some 18% of Biden voters, had they known that the laptop was legit and that Biden had many (20?) conversations (phone/speakerphone, White House visits) with Hunters business associates, they would not have voted for him and he would have lost the election, no matter how "fortified."
Are you and I in disagreement about any of this?

If you have been convinced by the media of the President's guilt concerning the allegations you cite, there is no shortage of antagonistic individuals who would eagerly bring charges against him - including disbarment and impeachment.

I'm perfectly willing to wait for any such attempts to substantiate any and all such charges, but I shall not idly speculate in the meantime, just as I do not presume to second-guess juries of Trump's peers regarding his culpability under law.

Then I don't think you and I disagree on the basics of what I'm saying:
    1) Biden lied about the laptop and whether or not he ever talked with Hunter or his business associates;
    2) Had he not lied, Biden would have lost the election.
So, so far, articles of Impeachment have been filed. Not specifically about these 2 matters. It includes such issues as a failure to enforce the law at our nation's Southern border. But, we'll have to see where things go from here.

I have no reason to share your assumptions, but respect your right to speculate.

I''d be very surprised if the House finds any merit in the impeachment charges that have been filed, or if others are contrived.

    CNN Live highlights.
Still shocking that Pence of all people is for a 15 week abortion ban.
It makes no sense for a Christofascist as he.

Pence and Haley disagree over likelihood of federal abortion ban

    From CNN's Veronica Stracqualursi

Mike Pence and Nikki Haley – who both served in the Trump administration -- disagreed over whether a federal ban on abortion could ultimately be passed, with Haley pressing Pence to “be honest with the American people.”

“When it comes to a federal ban, let's be honest with the American people and say it will take 60 Senate votes, it will take a majority of the house. So, in order to do that, let's find consensus,” Haley said.

Pence, who has been outspoken against abortion, said, “To be honest with you, Nikki, you’re my friend. But consensus is the opposite of leadership.”

“When the Supreme Court returned this question to the American people, they didn't just send it to the states only. It's not a states-only issue. It's a moral issue,” Pence said. He argued that there should be a minimum standard for abortion to be banned at 15 weeks of pregnancy.

Haley, in her response, argued that “when you are talking about a federal ban, be honest with the American people. We haven’t had 45 pro-life senators in over 45 years. So no Republican president can ban abortions any more than a Democratic president can ban all the state laws.”

“Don't make women feel like they have to decide on this issue when you know we don't have 60 Senate votes in the House,” she told Pence.

“Seventy percent of the American people support legislation to ban abortion after the baby is capable of experiencing pain,” Pence fired back.

“But 70 percent of the Senate does not,” Haley interjected.

Some background: Among Republican candidates, there’s some disagreement over whether a national ban should be a priority, or whether the issue is best left to the states.

Trump, for example, has called the six-week ban signed by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in Florida “too harsh.”

Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina favors a federal law banning most abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy.Pence supports a six-week federal ban.

Democrats see opportunity in almost any Republican conversation about abortion, citing how the issue has consistently helped galvanize voters in elections – from ballot initiatives to last year’s midterms – since the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision that erased Roe v. Wade last year and returned the question of abortion rights to the states.

CNN’s John King contributed reporting to this post.

    DUH!
    Been there done that.
Who ever thought that up as your political opening salvo needs to be fired.

"Entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy is making an appeal to voters at the 2024 Republican presidential primary debate by seeking to distinguish himself as an outsider.

“I'm not a politician, Bret. You’re right about that," he said, in response to a question from Fox News moderator Bret Baier Wednesday night about why voters should choose him over more experienced candidates.

"I do think, Bret, it's going to take an outsider," he said about making the American dream achievable for the next generation. "Because for a long time we had professional politicians in the Republican Party who have been running from something. Now is our moment to start running to something. To our vision of what it means to be an American today."
