Former Proud Boys Chairman Enrique Tarrio was sentenced to 22 years in prison for seditious conspiracy and leading a failed plot to prevent the transfer of power from Donald Trump to Joe Biden.

The sentence from District Judge Timothy Kelly is the longest given to anyone in relation to the January 6, 2021, US Capitol attack.

    [...]

“The jury didn’t convict anyone for engaging in politics, they convicted Mr. Tarrio and others of engaging in seditious conspiracy,” Kelly said Tuesday. “I don’t have any indication that he is remorseful for the actual things he is convicted of, which is seditious conspiracy and conspiracy to obstruct the counting of electoral votes.”

This is where the cult of Donald Trump leads.

How many traitors have been sent to prison for sedition since Jan 6?

Tarrio can join his fascist friends and record the national anthem.

With any luck, Trump will play it at his rallies.

This is where the totalitarianism of the left leads.

Blatantly-political overreach, and gulag-style imprisonment sentences, for non-violent dissidents and critics of the Democrat regime.

This nonsense will absolutely be overturned on appeal, but, until then, the Democrat's kangaroo courts are the current preferred method of punishment of the Biden regime.

This is the exact authoritarianism in action that the left accuses Trump of perpetrating, but which exists only in their imaginations.

This is a level of authoritarianism that would make Beijing blush.

Look around you. The people cheering for this are the exact people who pretended to be in staunch opposition to a government that would maliciously use the court system to silence and punish any and all opposition.

Those cheering this loudly are trumpeting their hypocrisy right now.

    Good.

This example needed to be made. We are a country of law.

I personally feel safer, and I've never been within 30 miles of this clown (that I know of)....

Is that it for the major insurrection foot soldiers? It's hard to keep track...

With any luck, Trump will be there with Tarrio to record the next session.... **** his rallies...

Do you feel safer now than you did when the BLM rioters where rampaging through cities for months on end, and people were dying, and billions of dollars worth of property was being destroyed?

Please rate your perceptions of safety on a scale from 1 to 10, so I can assesses how out whack your delusions of "safety" are with reality.

Thankfully Trump doesn't have enough support nationally to regain such power.

In a just world, that judge would be fired.

It's amazing the audacity Trump-haters have to actually gloat about this.

If I was on that side, and a judge did this to a political enemy, I would be ashamed, and try to distance my side from that judge.

Anyone with any common sense and the willingness to be honest (with themselves and others) would admit this judge imposed a very excessive sentence and that it's almost certain political bias was involved.

The judge is obviously biased. He has no business on the bench.

if he won and pardoned them, the constitution says he can't be President, so catch 22 for trump

Trump can Pardon them legally, but if he does, Trump can be removed from office legally

Sticking up for a criminal and thief is one stand to take.

Now the rat who became an informant will be with his “friends”

Why did Trump appoint a biased judge?

“The cult of Trump” again? Give it a rest, please.

The Proud Boys are a club that I wouldn’t trust as far as I could thow them, they are not your average everyday Trump supporter. In fact it wouldn’t surprise me one bit if their intention is to give a bad name to the average-joe Trump supporter.

Would you celebrate the harsh sentencing of an Antifa ringleader just the same?

I would not. As long as that Antifa raging ******* wasn't directly linked to violence, I would be outraged if a Republican-leaning court system had clearly railroaded said Antifa ******* with a politically-motivated multi-decade prison sentence.

Because I am truly anti-authoritarian, and not a hypocrite, like yourself, who cheers on totalitarian government overreach that goes the way you want it to go, and silences the critics of the totalitarians you support.
