So you know even less about hunting than shooting. Amazing.

That doesn't pass the smell test. There are upward of 3.5 million civilian defensive gun usages annually in the US. 3.5 million instances of dou¢hebags being dou¢hebags, regardless of whether or not they thought their targets might be armed. Of the ≈ 270 million adult American gun owners, only 8% have CCWs. Of those, significantly fewer than half carry daily. Those percentages will have to increase markedly for your paradigm to ever become valid.

They're a medical aid device ffs.
Their initial purpose by the actual inventor was for hunters to not blow their ****ing hearing while hunting birds on the wing (you fire many shells over an extended period, in groups).

A suppressor (not a silencer Hollywood) muffles a gunshot report to just below hearing damage levels it does not make it ****ing silent.
Average decibel reduction is 30 or so, from 160s to 130s IE from jet engine loud to jackhammer loud.
You telling me you can't hear a jackhammer from across the ****ing street?

If I defend myself, why the **** must I go deaf to do so? Why is that a choice I have to make when technology exists that could prevent it and doesn't make the ****ing thing silent at all?

This is dicta, heller does not deal with any such law so those laws are not part of the decision itself.
Only DCs storage requirement was at issue in Heller.

Why don't you try NYSRPA v Bruen, a case about concealed carry permits, and tell the class what it says?

I'm not responsible because I favor medical aid devices and constitutional rights not being infringed upon?

Its 3am. A crash is heard, and as you awake someone is trying your bedroom door. Do you stop to put your ear pro on first? Or do you function check your firearm and get to work immediately?
Why should I have to go deaf to defend my homestead in an emergency? Why is that a thing?

yet all concealed arms are arms. Which may be kept and borne.
carrying concealed is still carrying ready for use IE bearing.

The human fear of the unknown does much of the work. Is he armed? Might I be opposed? Is that a bulge? Etc

Does a person have a right to attack you? Do you have a right to respond with lethal force if someone attacks you?

The same reason I assume someone might speak their mind, practice a common religion, hire a lawyer when criminally charged etc.
Because they have a right to do it, and its normal behavior.

The first suppressor was literally made for a shotgun to duck hunt with for ****'s sake.
Bb guns don't use explosive propellent and so don't make enough noise to need suppression.
Literally no headphones are not, particularly if you wear eyeglasses. A suppressed weapon is the best way to avoid hearing damage of yourself or bystanders.
    https://mygunculture.com/silencers-really-silence/
The .45 round mentioned? They're subsonic IE no supersonic crack, just the boom of the propellent going off. They get down to 130DCB if suppressed, which is 15 decibels LOUDER than a rock concert.
Are you telling me you find rock concerts to be quiet affairs suitable for a residential home?

Its called bait dude. You set up a feeder and let them use it for a couple weeks, set the backstop around it and then you wait.

We call this practice a form of "hunting"

OK, but they are also used to make killing more stealthier, right? I mean, I hear you on all of this, but I notice you left that part off...let's be honest, right? That's the real problem with the entire gun discussion. A lack of honesty.

Do you find a Van Halen concert particularly stealthy?
How about a functioning jackhammer? Whisper quiet is it?

OK. Do you really think either of these questions are relevant to the topic at hand? Did you notice that I pointed out that what was said about silencers was all true? I merely pointed out that another use of them is to kill people stealthily. Are you denying that's a use of them?

Re-read my posts. I was very clear I use suppressors to eliminate prairie dogs because it reduces the concussion.

How can killing be stealthy at 110-120 dB? Please stop basing your understanding of suppressors on movies. That’s not reality.

Please stop referring to movies. You're the only one. Please stop acting like because you shoot prairie dogs you must be the only person who knows anything about guns.

So you are saying that a silencer has no value in stealthily killing someone? No, I'm not talking about killing someone secretly while another person sleeps in the next room. I'm talking about suppressing the noise so that the origin of the shot or shots is harder to detect? Because that is a real use case of a suppressor which is something you're saying in your examples. But then the moment I point out that it can be used to kill humans by making less noise, you seem to get very defensive. But it can be used for such a purpose, can it not? Also, they reduce muzzle flash which makes it harder to see a shooter, do they not? Is that not one key reason the Marines are issuing them? 110-120 db is much stealthier than 140-165 db. And if you tell me that's not much sound reduction, then it will be my turn to be condescending...

I’m not sure what you mean. Are you required to declare the you’re using your Constitutional right to carry that the State has recognized?
