Russian forces are holding a line defending the Russian speaking populations of Donetsk
and other locations and Ukrainian forces are killing themselves attacking the defensive line.

Why don't you tell Elon to go Moscow and tell Putin to leave Ukraine. In it's entirety.
Even leave Crimea and anything they took in 2014.
And just because parts of Ukraine speaks Russian, doesn't Russia should just be able to take it.

Because the US has been funding the recruiting and arming of the Western and Central Ukraine
armed forces since 2015, maybe a bit earlier. And has been bombarding Donetsk and
other areas populated by Russian speaking civilians at a low level since about that time.

Russia only moved in to eastern Ukraine to protect the civilian population centers
8 days after the munitions from the US arrived and were put into use shelling
Donetsk Etc. .The shelling got intense on Feb 16 2022 and Russian forces moved
in on Feb 24th.

One question would be how and why did Russia move in to protect the cities so quickly, and
then didn't advance at all after that?

All it would take is for the ruscists to go home and respect Ukraine's internationally recognized borders. Why are you only attacking Ukraine and not the aggressor in this conflict?
