As an intellectual exercise, have you ever asked yourself how you would address the existence of discriminatory hiring practices or unequal college admissions practices that disadvantage people of color? Folks on your side of the issue loudly pronounce their desire to have decisions with regard to hiring and admissions exclusively based on qualifications. I believe that is the way it should be as well........in a perfect world. But since we don't live in one, how do we compensate for the inequities that exist?

They are not! The Senate has only had 12 black representatives in over 230 years.

The leftist point of view is that all minorities should be adequately represented in Congress. If they don't overly represent that view, then they are not representing a minority. Simple as that....

 

And what’s adequate? 50% or close to 50%? But not just in Congress. Everywhere and everything regardless of qualifications or merit. Just represented no matter how unevenly. It’s how we got Harris. Biden said he needed a female minority and he got it no matter how much of a total incompetent moron she is. How many white guys play in the NBA again? Think that needs some fixin. Not enough representation Yet I understand why the NBA looks how it looks and I also understand why other sports or fields of study look how they look.
