If this mail order president of ours gets the most votes in history again we will know the system is totally rigged. Very few except the most DieHard lefties will say that they are happy with this President and the current situation of our United States.

 

Biden was riding Obama's wave. Hence the most votes in history. Trump's inauguration crowd is nothing compared to Obama, which is why it's odd he has the 2nd most votes in history.

PS... When the President issues a legal order to a General, that General's job is to say, "Yes, sir!" and make it happen. Inserting him or herself into the decision-making process is not part of the job.

As for the electoral college, I’d like to see only if a candidate wins a majority of the vote in a state, 50% plus one vote would all that states electoral votes be awarded to that candidate. A plurality won’t get it. If no candidate wins a majority, they go by congressional district like Maine and Nebraska.


I didn’t say the U.S. was a failure, but our two-party system has failed us. When we get two candidates, one from each party where most Americans don’t want neither one. That is a failure with our two-party electoral system. Of course, this is the second time in 8 years that this has happened. 2016 between Trump and Clinton, 2024 between Trump and Biden.


You’re correct about presidents running for reelection losing if their job approval rating is 45% or lower. Ford at 45% when he lost to Carter in 1976, Carter at 37% when he lost to Reagan in 1980. G.H.W. Bush at 43% when he lost to Bill Clinton in 1992, then Trump at 43% when he lost to Biden in 2020. With a job approval rating currently at 39%, one would expect Biden to lose in 2024. But 2024 is unique in that Carter, Reagan, Bill Clinton, Biden were all seen or viewed more favorably by 15 points or more than the president running for reelection. In 2020 both Trump and Biden are both seen favorably by 40% of all Americans, negatively by 56%.

Corporations go where they are driven. You make it to expensive to operate one place they'll go somewhere else. They're used to be three galvanizing plants here locally. They are all out of business. Government rules and regulations made it essentially impossible to run a galvanizing plant at a profit in the US
