unfortunately, the fact jobs go overseas has a reason, and that is (1) Americans will not compete in the global market and (2) Americans want the price benefits that goods produced elsewhere brings them.
This is a have your cake and eat it too scenario. AI will have some impact, just as all technology gains have, like robots. Wonder why businesses buy robots to replace people? They are always on time and do their job reliably. The work they produce is consistent and precise, and the costs of "benefits" that goes with every employee isn't there. Same situation as sending jobs overseas, it allows them to be more competive
