So here's the basic gist of it.
Eric Adams: Illegal immigrants are welcome in New York
Greg Abbott: Great. We're sending them your way
Eric Adams: No no, I didn't mean that.
    Greg Abbott: Here they come
Eric Adams: I'll use an executive order to stop the buses from coming to New York
Greg Abbott: Then I'll send them to New Jersey
Eric Adams: I'll sue the bus companies
Greg Abbott: Commerce clause slapnuts. I know the law and you don't
    Eric Adams: You're a meanie:roflol:

Now Eric Adams has shut down schools to house illegal immigrants. He's angry that Greg Abbott's policies have greater reach than his own.

Gov. Greg Abbott has found a way to get illegals bused from Texas to New York City, where Mayor Eric Adams ordered new rules to stop the flow of buses to the Big Apple. After the mayor limited drop-off times and demanded a 32-hour notice, the buses are dropping off illegal aliens at a train station in neighboring New Jersey. They then travel to the city.

Art Arthur, resident fellow in Law and Policy at the Center for Immigration Studies, tells AFN a political “chess match” has been happening which the Texas governor has been winning much to the frustration of Mayor Adams and other Democrat mayors.

“They can either complain about what the administration is doing, which is what they should be doing, or they can criticize the Republican governor of Texas,” he says.

A spokesman for Mayor Adams accused Abbott of treating asylum seekers "like political pawns" and dropping off families in surrounding areas "in the cold, dark of night with train tickets to travel to New York City."

“The real problem lies with the White House,” counters Arthur, “and that really is where Mayor Adams should be directing his ire."

Democrat administrations have no problem flying and busing illegal immigrants around the country in the dead of night.

They want to be sanctuary cities and it is largely Democrat policies responsible for the accelerating pace of illegal immigrants, so let them deal with it.

Don't cry about it now, you're the ones that wanted it.

They can solve the problem quick. Reject sanctuary city status and he will stop.

Abbott better make sure his State has a power grid that can handle cold weather instead of having a dick measuring contest with NY and NJ.

What is it that Dems always tell me......Oh yeah... The government can do multiple things at once. Texas has made multiple improvements to their power grid since 2021. Including adding more batteries, increased inspections to make sure everything is up to code with the cold weather in mind, added solar and wind power to their infrastructure.

But we get it, you're miffed that Abbot is winning something that he never should have had to win in the first place. But has to because Democrat policies encouraged the crisis that we have at our borders. Now Democrat mayors and governors are starting to call what's happening to them a crisis, despite the fact that they have only even received 1/8th of the immigrants over a 2 year period, that Texas does on a daily basis.

He's referring to the cold snap that Texas got back in 2021 which cause several power outages. His comment was nothing more than a cheap shot, no doubt made in anger at how successful Abbott is on this issue.

Or y'know, actually defend the border.

It's kinda interesting that Adams is saying that illegals are being used as pawns by Abbott when the White House has been using them as pawns by pretty much flooding the country with them for a long time now. Heck, Los Angeles has been handing the homeless hundred-dollar bills and free bus fare to go anywhere so this has been going on for quite awhile. I think the whole "Sanctuary City" thing started picking up steam as a big middle finger to Trump and now it's been used against them. Really, did not one of these genius mayors see this coming? I did. I can't have been the only one.

I keep saying it - there's no game someone can play that others can't learn. It's like no one ever actually listened to the Beatles' "All You Need Is Love" lyrics.

Texas actually has the money to deal with things like that. New York's electric grid went in and out all last summer while ERCOT stood up to much hotter weather without issue.

I'm really wondering why no liberal on this board will explain Eric Adams' change of heart on this. Why was he saying New York would welcome illegals then freak out when they showed up?

The power grid in Texas is far more robust than the grids in CA, NJ and NY.

Since Biden caused NYC's illegal alien problem on the day he took office, I'm curious to see how New Yorkers vote in the election, I'm wondering if they'll be asking for 4 more years of bus loads of illegals. What makes things even worse for Biden is that Adams has been begging and pleading for Biden to help him out and all Biden gave him was the little green weenie.
