Can this story be confirmed by a non conspiracy theory source?

Best then not to do something that gets the FBI investigating you. Stay legal.

As an independent that views both parties as thieves, I am more about results and issues. I do have pro-Second Amendment shirts stickers. My F:flagus:K Hamas magnet on my truck gets a lot of attention.

J6? That may be the cover story, but they have to sift through all of the data in the target area to screen everyone, then ferret out the sportsmen, target shooters, MAGA, Church going, people in the vicinity of J6 activities, people who speak against those in power, etc.
Basically anyone they choose to target. That includes you, me, and everyone who uses a credit card in an area they are interested in. There is no "I checked the liberal box, so I'm good". It is as democratic as it gets: you are considered guilty. If you don't hear from us, you are not. Yet.

What nonsense. The 3 justices that were questioning the decision to rip bodily autonomy away from a hundred million women and girls, wrote scathing dissents to the decision. The leak was an attempt to get the 6 justices BACK in line.

I hate to pee in your cheerios, but we have been in the "surveillance state" since 2002 when we passed the Patriot Act. That is where this provision resides in.

however, if you read carefully the article, this has to do with January 6th and those who wanted to purchase firearms to overthrow the government in the name of Trump. We call that insurrection, rebellion, etc, and that is against the law. So, federal law enforcement was doing their due diligence in making sure that those who wanted to do harm on January 6th by purchasing firearms, or at least attempting to, and were there on January 6th and participated in the insurrection, they would be identified and their transactions or attempted transactions could be investigated as well.

That's the problem with data mining. There are hundreds, if not tens of thousands of transactions to sift through. Those that were going there and purchasing whatever at Cabellas or any other store, while using Trump or whatever BOLO words they were looking for, would not know or need to know or be concerned.

They didnt need to "trace you to being at the insurrection or plotting something". They searched ALL banking records with any connection to Washington DC. If Nancy Pelosi had a Bank of America transaction at the Bass Pro shop in San Francisco, she would be in the data mined. And not because she was at the Capitol but instead because she was in DC

They would have to visit someone.

They are not going to come a knocking because someone bought a red hat.

???? I would need to know if the FBI is combing through my personal banking records. And being kept in the dark doesnt negate that need. It was bad enough that such data mining occurred in the hunt for AlQaeda and their supporters following 9/11 but to do so to find MAGA's or people fond of Bass fishing is immoral to another level

If they bought a red hat and an Icee at the corner store in DC on Jan 5th they likely would.

Congress needs to make it clear that the Feds do not possess this authority, and subject violators to prison terms.

You seem to not have a problem with the government doing an electronic dragnet over every person in an area of their choice with no warrant.
January 6th is not an excuse to strip Americans of their rights. Due process, warrants, unreasonable search and seizure, etc. gone. Lastly, don't assume the government is telling you the truth.
With the use of AI they will be able be even more efficient in distilling every American into individual "cubes".

Well, if you consider the House Judiciary Committee to be a conspiracy theory source, cant imagine what a "non conspiracy theory source" would be.

Ive come to expect such things from the FBI but surprised to see this is coming from the Treasury Department and

Jordan claimed that when a specific list came to the FBI’s notice, Steve Jensen, the then-section chief of the Domestic Terrorism Operations Section, decided to “pull” that Bank of America information from FBI systems.

Glimmer of hope with the FBI but we need to add the Treasury Department to the functioning of the Deep State.

BRIBED JOE'S FEDS SURVEILED BIBLE BUYERS: Not only did Treasury and the FBI “ask” banks, credit cards and other financial firms to search customers’ private accounts using the terms “MAGA” and “Trump,” they also encouraged searches for “Religious Texts.” A bunch of civil liberties experts I interviewed today on this are outraged.'

    http://www.politicalforum.com/index...ons-for-terms-like-‘maga-’-‘tru.616071/page-2

Bribed Joe and Spying Feds Are Scum.

“It’s outrageous and frankly chilling that the federal government may be urging banks to monitor Americans for exercising their religious freedom by simply purchasing a Bible or other religious text,”

Maybe not in 02 when the Patriot Act allowed the gov't to snoop.
But they can legally do that today, thanks to that Patriot Act.

I made no comment as to the legality of the search and only stated what they actually searched.

You neglected the report to back your conspiracy theory up with.

Until you do, you've invited stupid questions to drag your supposed information out.
