He has also made plenty of references distinguishing the Father from himself. IE; "Our Father", " I am not come to do my will but that of he who sent me." "I am the bread sent from heaven" "but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven." "No man cometh unto the Father but by me." "No man hath seen the Father." " Don't call me good. Only the Father is good." "behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him." "Wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business" " In my Fathers house are many mansions." "And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son."
Jesus clarified his statement (about seeing him is to see the Father) when he said the Father is in me and I in him.

Just because I don't evangelize in the way that is approved by one very narrow sect of Christians doesn't mean that I don't at all.

But Muslims hardly get along.....even in their own countries. Atheists get along on this forum.

    Possibly.
There are a few Roman texts that mention jesus but all are second hand accounts, notably by Tacitus.
The Romans were very particular in keeping records, but no official records mention jesus.
Bart D. Ehrman has studied the issue extensively and found that over the centuries many texts were 'altered' to include jesus. But as in all religions facts are 'flexible'
And as in all religions they start as a cult with a few members and are ignored until they get popular enough to threaten the money making potential of the existing mainstream religion. The established religion then attempts to extinguish the upstart cult, normally with extreme violence. If this fails they become the new mainstream religion and the existing religion becomes mythology. (Not many worship Zeus anymore)
At the moment because we don't need magic and invisible men who live in the sky to explain how the world works, christianity is rapidly heading towards mythology.
On a side note the Israelite's were supposedly enslaved by the Egyptians, another civilization that kept records, but when they all got up and left Egypt nobody seemed to notice as no records mention it.
So either the Egyptians couldn't be bothered documenting how 600,000 men and an unknown number of women and children just walked off the job, or it never happened.

I don't go on the attack. I respond in kind.
You may think it's an attack to post correct things like the book of Isaiah is about the land/tribe called Israel. Which it is about. And not some prophecy about some person 1000s of years later.

Basically all you've done in you last several posts is ad hom attacks.
Likely due to your weak position on your beliefs.

    Men wrote the bible.
I don't resent anything, not even you constant attempts at derailing a topic by constantly talking about all the posters you respond to.
If you had a grasp of the bible and what you think you believe, you'd post about your knowledge and not the ad hom BS you usually post.

Yes, facts is a good thing to rely on.

You do, do bondage. It's called blind faith in spite of facts and reality.

Wrong. America exists as a 'free nation', because on the men who fought to make it free.
    Free from religion.
Free from a dictator, king, etc.
The only constant in life is change.
Religion is a belief. There's 1000s of religions in the world.
If you don't see those things, that's not my problem. To use your words.

I am not dismembering the founding documents. Why the sudden change to an attack mode? I am following the founding documents more closely than you.
I never said there is NO GOD. I said the words, 'their Creator', is not referring to any specific god.
That you make up things like that, speaks to your own character. Not our forefathers, to use your words.

I think that Jesus existed as a Jewish preacher. He is mentioned outside by several later persons who all mention the fact the Jesus existed but normally qualify this with the statement 'that his followers claim he was.....' The fact that the Jews also mention him in a derogatory way seems to give weight to this.
If you look at Palestine and Jewish customs of the time it was quite possible for a male child to become a teacher - even if he was from a poor background.
Children were, contrary to the belief of many, actually schooled from the age of about 5. Usually the school was at the local Synagogue and run by a teacher - later to be called Rabbis. They were taught to read and write but the main lessons would be from the Tanakh. They were encouraged learn the Torah till around about 9 years of age, and then progress to the 'Oral' Torah - rest of the Tanakh. Apparently Jesus was a good pupil who excelled in schooling and when presented at the Temple at the age of adulthood 12-13 showed his intelligence by answering the priests who were amazed. It was often the custom then that such a youth would be offered 'further education' by a Teacher (rabbi) who would take him under his wing until he was able to talk and discuss the Tanakh intelligently and propose his own ideas. A thesis?
Study the Gospel teachings of Jesus and ignore the interpolations of miracle etc by the writers, most of Jesus teaching were Judaic - from the OT. Most of his parables are related to the Jews believed relationship with Jahweh - the Good Shepherd, the vine etc. He told his disciples he spoke in parables because they would know them. Gentiles wouldn't. His death was simply the reaction of the Jewish religious heirarchy to being called hypcrites - which they certainly were - and other 'names' they didn't like.
The Nativity stories are made up and the Crucifixion story contains questionable 'facts'. He was crucified. Period.
Christianity came about because a few persuaded a few more. As with all religions.

The DOI speaks for itself in deference to God and reliance on him for protection for their cause.. As does Washingtons Thanksgiving Day proclamation giving God all the credit for the war victory, the land, freedom, our constitution and our government. And fyi, we are not equal in nature. Nature makes us unequal. In God we are created equal. They weren't a merry band of Atheists, Buddhists, and Witches as you imagine. God is not religion. But he is the self evident truth upon which our nation was founded. Our freedom comes from him. Our rights come from him. And our equality comes from him by virtue of our all coming from him. Our religious liberty prevents government from establishing a particular religion, not from dis-acknowledging any mention of God. That would be stupid in light of our founding.

Would you like me to give you threads that refute your facts? We could do that all day long. In the end, you believe the way you want to. I hold that the Bible is the inspired Word of God. You believe whatever scientists put between your ears. Go with Dr. Fauci. He claims he IS science. There are other atheists you can enlist.

Just requote the words of DoI with the word god.
If you can't, you're making it up.

Even the founders who wrote all men are created equal, didn't believe those words.
They allowed slavery to be legal and some even were slave owners.

And later in history, the Americans drove the indigenous people off their lands on to small reservations.
    So much for being equal.

Were all those things a blessing from god?

Yeah, it seems to intersect here and there along with your line of reasoning. As for me, though I'm not a student of the Bible, I find certain parts in alignment with my personal knowledge and acquaintance with God s spirit. For instance, I just read a chapter in Paul's letter to the Corinthians, and it is in harmony with Gods spirit as I know him, which is not founded in scripture or my upbringing. Yet therein Paul speaks my heart. Therefore I'm a student of the spirit.

Such a thing can't be tested, compared to record, or scientifically verified. Then again, neither can any higher thing, not even the veracity of the values of civilization which we lift as standards by which to live and hold ourselves accountable. Were it not for the sweet light of conscience, we wouldn't know a thing.

Do you think the way of life you now live would be compatible with the indigenous people who never claimed any land for their own? What, are you going to Northface and display your white shame for a 20% discount? By the way, are you an American?? Did you "drive the indigenous people off their land"?
Your white shame and virtue signalling actually, and I have to be honest......makes me sick!

All men are equal in that they have intrinsic value and should have equal opportunity. I think you confuse that with equal outcome. We are fallen creatures. Some of us know that. We accept it and move on in God's light. Others persist in their pride and they never get better!

It's just coincidence. I have read very little of the Bible. I only read Corinthians because it was linked in a post by another poster.

I confused it with nothing. For I never said anything remotely close to what you read in your mind.

The founders and early settlers obviously didn't think all men are created equal with intrinsic value.
The let slaver be legal, some even owned them.
And settlers fought with Natives to take their land.
