. . . 170 years ago the Republican Party of the USA was founded by slavery opponents at a schoolhouse in Ripon, Wisconsin. Approximately 9 years later it was a republican president who freed the slaves.
So why do most Blacks vote for the democrats?

Free stuff and indoctrination. If Fani Willis wasn't a democrat, do you think she'd be in the position she is now?

Based on her present job performance I don't think she would be. She's a good example of a Peter Principle democrat.

Doesn't say much for the majority of Blacks. Seems the majority didn't learn from Booker T. Washington's example. Or Dr. Ben Carson who is a living example of self-achievement.

Because those Republicans are now Democrats, and the Democrats of the time are now Republicans.

Lincoln would be SHOCKED to see that somebody like Trump managed to become President. On the other hand, Andrew Johnson... probably not so much.

Could part of it be they feel offended and belittled by statements like these? People don't win many converts when they call the people they want to convert greedy, or uneducated, or not worthy of higher positions.

cause southern conservatives supported slavery, not liberals which have shown they support equal rights

and we see in modern times those that support the statues and Confederate flag being on public land..

Why would @Sirius Black do that when you used it to answer a question about "an entire race".

However, your lack of attention to the posts you respond to has been well established in the past. So your objections might not be as curious as they seem. Just please don't assume that the REST of us aren't paying attention.

Lincoln would be SHOCKED that someone like Biden could survive for half a century like he has, and then Lincoln would put the gun to his head himself when he saw what the Nancy Antoinette crime gang has been up to.

And by the way, he'd think Trump was a pompous gas bag but all in all a good president.

Yeah... the President who passed some of the most controversial and consequential legislation in our history, to the point that it got him killed, would be impressed by a pseudo-President who passed ONE relevant piece of legislation in his term in office, before being voted out because of his incompetence. And that legislation was to give tax break to billionaires....

    Hilarious!

You did call them greedy right....you did say they were taught "race hustle" instead of reading, math or science...doesn't that imply that they don't know much...
You are the one that made the comment I was just pointing out that that is not a very smart way to win converts. Tell me why you disagree with that.

Do black kids go to different schools than white kids?

Many Blacks were very impressed with John F. Kennedy. When LBJ replaced him, Johnson cracked up the welfare state (bad) and passed the 1964 Civil Rights Act (good). Republican Barry Goldwater voted against the Civil Rights Act and made it a central part of his campaign. He got crushed. Since then the Democrats have owned over 90% of the Black vote.

Goldwater cost the Republican Party dearly with his vote against the 1964 Civil Rights Act.

The trouble is the Republicans don't try to get the Black vote until now. The older generation which were "blank check Democrat votes" (Democrat? I'll vote for it no matter whom they nominate.) is dying off. The younger generations, especially the Black men who see the Democrats taking them for granted and catering to the woman and LBGQ vote are drifting away.

Back in 1956, the Republicans used to work for votes in the Black neighborhoods. Here's an example.

You don't know much about what the Democrat Party was like in the 19th century do you?

Here's an example from the 1868 campaign. The Democrat candidate was Horatio Seymour. Seymour's running mate, Frank Blair, was out making such anti-Black speeches, that even the Democrat Party asked him to tone it down.

From the civil war until the great depression most blacks, those who could vote along with most everyone else did vote republican. The great depression brought forth a huge realignment. FDR offered hope. That’s when the great shift took place among blacks. I might add most everyone else also shifted from republican to democrat. FDR led this country through the great depression and WWII. FDR was winning elections with 60% of the vote. The democrats were racking up control of the senate by a 75-17 margin in1939 followed by a 69-23 in 1941 and so on. In the house the democrats were enjoying advantages of 333-89 and 322-102 etc. In fact the democrats controlled the house for 58 of 62 years beginning in 1933 and 40 straight years 1955-1994.

As recently as 1961 the democrats had a 51-28 advantage in party affiliation and 51-25 and 50-25 in 1964 and 1965. It wasn’t just blacks; it was pretty much everyone who identified with the democratic Party. White, black, brown etc. The Republicans didn’t gain a majority of whites until 1976. Until then, from 1932-1976 even most whites were democrats. But all of this can be traced back to the great depression and the hope of survival and better days FDR gave all Americans, not just blacks.

It sounded like you were calling the day the Republican Party was formed in 1854 a sad one. That sounds like the Democrat uniparty folks who want only one political party in the U.S.

    Don’t be so disingenuous.
You know Lincoln’s Republican Party has nothing to do with today's repubs, who sold their soul to a malignant narcissist and are now busy parroting every seditious lie and every attack on our democracy that he spews in his hysterical attempt to evade justice for his crimes.

I oppose both crime families. They work for the elite to the detriment of the people. So, the beginning of an evil entity (R Party) is a sad day, just as the beginning of the D Party is.

Which party had the highest percentage of people vote against the Civil Rights Act back in the 60s?

So what do you propose? Do you want no parties with a strong man dictatorship? Are you are communist or a socialist? Have you looked at how well things have worked out with them in charge? Not to so well for the poor or the workers, while the party leadership lives well.

    I’m an anarchist.

It’s clear. The evidence is in and it’s voluminous. Government as practiced today, is a nefarious force.
