MLK ruled the black vote and he for whatever reason, books have been written, changed and threw his hat in with the newly epiphanized LBJ and Democrat party. There are more and more black conservatives coming to the forefront and this election cycle may see a BIG shift as it seems many in the black communities have gotten fed up with the progressive government dependency failed programs and crime that has been allow to flourish.

Republican's what segregation? Segregation was a Democrat policy, the only home it ever found was in the Democrat party. Even when the most staunch Democrat segregationist broke off into the Dixiecrats and that failed Presidential run they went right back into the open and welcoming arms of the Democrat party. Then the Dems finally saw they could no longer oppose and hold down the Civil Rights movement and anti-segregation momentum and did their political triangularization. Eventually the old segregationist were voted out by the younger Southern voters becoming a bigger voice or died. Took another 20 years to finally get rid of them all.

I grew up in the 40's and 50's in the deep south. The Black neighborhoods were neat although they had humble homes (as I did), they dressed well, they had manners, they worked hard, the father (was in the house) and mother raised the kids to respect grownups and the law. They attended school, learned, and kept their language clean. You tell me what changed?

It wasn't any different for black communities decades ago than the opioid crisis that is now infecting mostly white communities. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if in 20 years we find out the govt is pushing this one as well. We already know its at least partially the result of corrupt and inept regulators of the pharmaceutical industry. And it seems more and more common that seemingly isolated malfeasance often turns out to be a part of a larger deliberate agenda.

Anyway, I'm hoping that no one 'wins the black vote'. I want people to vote for independence and freedom and self determinism instead of dependence and collectivism and authoritarian bureaucracy.
