My wife was not planning to trade until next year at the earliest. We are thinking about trading an SUV with 34,000 miles one it to get a new on because the model is going away.

I don't want an electric "runabout." I have charging station anxiety." I don't want a vehicle I can't take on a long trip.

This is an example of how stupid government officials and many college professors are. You can't force people into electric vehicles when there are not enough charging stations to service them, and the electric grid in not big enough to support them. You can't dictate to people when you have not planned out the whole system.

Freedoms are taken away a teeny weensy bit at a time, bit by bit by bit over years, decades and centuries. It is hard to pinpoint a salient significant freedom that anyone lost at any one moment like it is hard to pinpoint which straw broke the camel's back.

That kind of absolutist view never works. Is it an infringement if they don't allow you to have a gun in prison? Should police officers be able to disarm you when you're being violent or threatening? The 2nd amendment doesn't mention those exceptions, so should those exceptions exist? My point is that most rights are not absolute, courts have allowed reasonable restrictions since this country started. The argument is thus about what kind of reasonable restrictions we should have, not whether they should exist at all.

I think Oregon bans people from collecting rain water that falls on their own house. In CA and NY, there are areas that will ban you from installing a natural gas line into a new home you're building. In CA, they want to ban gas powered weed eaters, lawn mowers and generators.

No he’s not. No one is taking away your choice to buy whichever car, stove or furnace you want. What did Biden specifically do to cause your electric company to jack your rates? The electric company we use has not jacked our rates. You should talk to your electric company.

 

You must not have heard about Biden's objective to manufacturing no more gas powered automobiles in just a few years, or his attempting to ban natural gas stoves and furnaces forcing everyone to buy electric and heat pumps, or his efforts to ban coal fired electric power plants with gas fired power plants squarely in his sights so that electricity production falls far below the demand which will make its cost sky high (as Obama promised).

 

Biden is doing no such thing regarding gas powered cars. You’ve fell for talking points. There is no ban on gas stoves, etc.
