Putin will never "invade Europe". His military is totally incompetent, His air force shoots down their own planes, and bombs Russian territory. His first invasion gambit lined up armor bumper to bumper and got blown away by US made Javelins. After years he cannot establish air superiority over an enemy that that has no indigenous air force. His Navy is getting clobbered by Ukraine, which has no Navy. A big part of his Army pulled out of the front lines and threatened Moscow. Hitler conquered ALL of Ukraine in five weeks. Putin holds only abut 20% of Ukraine after over two years.

Putin will get put away in short order if he ever attacks NATO.

The Russian air force has bombed its own country by mistake. Russia cannot establish air superiority over a nation that essentially has no air force. Hitler conquered all of Ukraine in five weeks. After over two years, Putin controls barely 20%.

Tantrums notwithstanding, Putin doesn't stand a chance if he chooses to fight NATO.

Now, if the nuclear option is exercised, its a whole different discussion.

Let's be clear here. If Putin considers Europe and America to be weak, divided, decadent and (most importantly?) as having the attention span of a toddler? And God knows he's said so often enough! Then you can be sure he is literally banking on the fact that the US public will grow tired of the war In Ukraine to hand him victory there. And importantly? Xi is also watching NATO's reaction to the invasion of Ukraine, hoping to gauge the West's likely response to a potential invasion of Taiwan on the basis of it's response to the invasion of Ukraine.

Your worried about a potential war with China? Good! How about you worry then about the message the US is sending China if it drops Ukraine like a hot rock! And if nothing else study the history of WW2 and the role appeasement played in actually expediting the outbreak of war .

 

I agree with most of what you say. Biden has left the USA looking like a spoiled, frightened little child with no guts or will. But Puten's military has proven itself so inept that its doubtful he could conquer Disneyland if it was located in Moscow. I don't believe Ukraine is an essential element to the US or China in any way... except that China loves watching us deplete our military assets in a useless attempt to save a worthless country called Ukraine. What a fantastic way to further weaken the US military before the invasion of Taiwan!
