He answers, using complete sentences, the actual question put to him, no matter how hard they are. NEVER deflects to irrelevant points (like so many do).

He gives extremely logical answers, gives examples, easily diffusing detractors concerns, in a profoundly easy to understand way, without offending anyone.

He's sensitive to his opposing party, doesn't patronize or talk down to them.

In short, he's the kind of president we really need.

He even got a standing ovation on Fox!

You left out the most important thing. He served his country. He put his life on the line for his country while biden served his family Burisma dollars. I'd take Pete over Dirty Joe in a heartbeat

I don't see a date on the interview. It looks like it is about twenty years ago. Not much relevance today.

He is certainly not looked upon with favor by Fox today. It took him three weeks to visit the train wreck in Palestine Ohio.

Since you brought it up…how do you feel about Trump not serving? Now, before you go there…this thread isn’t about Biden yet you brought him up so you opened the door to be called out about Trump ALSO not serving. What say you? I would imagine you have as much disdain towards Trump for not serving as you do Biden, right?

It isn't about how I feel about those who didn't serve. Its about how grateful I am to those who DID.

Pete Buttigieg was the Democrats version of Vivek Ramaswamy, which is to say that they both present themselves extremely well, but both are woefully inexperienced for the job of President.

Getting experience as Secretary of Transportation was a move in the right direction for him, but still places him in the woefully inadequate experience category, especially when his term as transportation secretary has been less than stellar. Maybe he will be a legit candidate in 10 years, but for now he is nowhere near being ready.

    I'd never support him
Absolutely. We need a nationwide licensing and registration system, but that’s not nearly enough. We must implement universal background checks, ban military-style assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, and hold the gun industry accountable. https://t.co/Dom53gRZ2w — Pete Buttigieg (@PeteButtigieg) June 29, 2019

You'd take Pothole Pete over the five time military deferment world champion?

But it is based on what you posted about in post #3. I had a feeling you’d pull a double standard. Thanks for confirming. Next.

My confession? I'd vote for sweet-Pete because he's prettier than some of the chicks I 'put moves on' in college. :buggered:

i couldn't care less-I care about their policies and judicial picks. Now if everything else is even, then I'd pick a vet over a draft dodger.

Nope! you don't get to spin my posts into your fantasy land version of it. I dislike Pete and Joe's policy stances just about equally so Pete gets the leg up for me because of his military service. I don't see what is so hard to comprehend about that.

Why does competency never seem to get mentioned?

Buttigieg has been a terrible Secretary of Transportation. Why anyone would think he is worthy of a promotion is beyond me.

lol he said "everyone will have to swallow hard and think twice..."

Seriously, he's right on about most things, including the Electoral College. Even Republicans know it's an antiquated system and they only support it because it gives them an advantage in elections while having unpopular policies. I would too. In the meantime, I guess Californians are going to have to continue moving to Texas until it turns Blue.

    Has Buttigieg ever been competent?

Perhaps that's why it's never been mentioned.

    Interesting.
On another forum the question was who would you vote for if you couldn't vote for anyone in your party of choice.

I said Buttigieg. That was before the 2020 election.

After observing his performance as secretary of Transportation for 4 years I would not vote for Buttigieg for dog catcher.

As far as being a good speaker while lacking requisite experience, they are very similar. I understand that you are not a person able to look past your biases to give anyone that disagrees with you any credit. Ramaswamy is highly intelligent, as is Buttigieg. I dont like Buttigieg any more than you like Ramaswamy BTW, but I am able to look beyond that level of contempt and understand that both present themselves very well and both have nowhere near the requisite experience to be president.

They both also probably have about the same chance at the presidency. I wouldn't bet on them, but I wouldn't count them out either.

I think many will remember him from when he last ran for president and came across as phony as a used car salesman.

Pete was a lousy mayor and he's lousy in the job he has now. The fact he can answer a question is notable, but he's a Peter Principal guy who has a way with words. Jimmy Carter also answered all questions, nice guy, and had a high IQ, but he was a lousy president.
