The Palestinians can live in peace with Israel if their leadership had that as a goal, but they don’t.

Palestinian leadership continually calls for the extermination of Israel and the Jewish people. When they initiate hostilities, Israel responds and crushes their nuts.

This situation is a result of both parties behaving in ways that are counter to living in peaceful cooperation .Their mutual antagonism has a long history now of wars , provoking each other and then more hostilities. Neither party shows sincere evidence of wanting to resolve these chronic issues. Neither party is showing interest in diffusing the hosties. That war was the largest, most stupid mistake that America had made up to that time.

Even after years of our destruction and slaughter, I could schedule a vacation there within ten years of our "departure".

 

So? The same was true of post WW2 Japan and Germany.

 

We didn't remove the government we were fighting against in Vietnam.

In Japan, their God lived in Japan and ordered his people to obey the Americans. And, Germany was still a western state. I and many others had relatives in Germany during the war.

In fact, we pushed Vietnam toward being more strongly associated with China - a nation with whom they had a bloody history of defense that we ignored.

 

For the question whether it was a genocide or not, its irrelevant if they had a chance to annihilate all Israelis. It was clearly their goal. The decisive fact that in fact it wasnt a genocide is that they were stopped at a kill counter of about 1200.

We can have a look at the definition of genocide:

So clearly the definition could be met by

... intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group".

It must be a substantial part of the group or hit a certain number, as later rulings specified, which wasnt the case here. So, was it a genocide? No, thats why I didnt claim that. Did the Palestinians want to committ a genocide? Of course they did, its the official aim of the Hamas, thats why they were voted by a vast majority in Gaza in 2007. Nobody makes a secret out of it. You can see allout cheering by so called "innocent civilians" in Palestine when live dashcams of the terrorists were broadcasted how they tortured Israelis to death and when they paraded raped women through the streets.

They want to commit genocide and those people who support them here or on the campus of the Columbia University want them to succeed in it. Thats not too silly for words, thats obvious.

There was no siege of Gaza before that.
Now, there is a war going on with the legitimate aim to destroy the Hamas once and for all, which is as such 100% justified as an act of self-defense. What is indeed too silly for words is the claim that Israel is committing a genocide, because unlike Hamas, their aim is not to annihilate the Palestinians as a group.

I am still asking myself what this thread is all about. It claims to be about corruption in Israel, while in fact it turns out just as another of the dozens of threads in which anti-Semitic conspiracy theories, hate pictures and bullshit like the fairy-tale Israelis commit genocide in Gaza. How many comments are actually about corruption in Israel? I wonder how threatening Israeli corruption is for Australia, Germany, the US, France, etc.

Yes, the people cheering when women whose trousers are soaked in blood (up to your fantasy what might have happened) were certainly not all Hamas. The civilians who wanted Jewish slaves to torture or rape them are certainly not all Hamas, I realize and acknowledge that.
