Well you looked it up. More then I can for some people (not just people in this thread). However, the ctizens of California, Arizona, and New Mexico, were orginally US citzens. They were supposed to give up slavery, and they had to be Cathloic. They didn't want too. So the Texans rebelled. And they got their independence. I too, agree that Texas does not count becuase they were indepentdent, and they successfully scared the US, into joining.

And, yes. I am sorry if this inconvienced anybody on what I was talking about. I tend to forget that not everybody knows history to my extent.

 

People enjoy putting today's morals on ancient times, they should try dealing with the present! Unfortunately, we're the ones being invaded by Mexico now both in illegal immigration and financially in taking care of them. It also seems they're a bit ungrateful...

 

Yes. We gave our immigrants nothing in the 1890's. And did you ever hear of Jacob Rii's? He took photos of how immigrants with nothing lived. Not always pretty. I didn't read all of it, but the first chapter of The Jungle by Upton Sinclair, has the tale of how Luthanian immigrants were coming to America. And the rest of the book, as I understand also can be used to further the treatment of immigrants with nothing.

A good start would be for the U.S. to legalize drugs. I'm tired of being held hostage by Americans who can't control their craving for currently illegal substances in all forms.

 

That I agree on. If Prohibition taught us anything, people will find a way to get what they want, no matter the cost. But then again, depending on how much the Cartels have gotten into Congress, the senate, house of reps will proably be against it.

Meanwhile, imagine bonded and taxed smack, coke and weed. The $40 billion/year "War on Drugs" shut down. The drug cartels left high and dry. Giant new tax revenue flowing into the federal coffers reducing the deficit without a tax increase.

Not arguing, just saying why should the American taxpayer be asked to foot the bill? Let them fix their own problems and if they need help, ask. We should have secure borders and try to fix our own problems, which seem to be overwhelming at the moment. Who's going to help us , Mexico???? They should take a hint from China, use their labor force to produce cheaper goods and export them and keep their people home instead of chasing them to us...!

 

I can tell you it has not been positive! The religion of Islam does not value life on this earth but rather life they believe is beyond...

What are you talking about? Islam's history is full and postives and negatives, just like any relegion.

 

The probelm is, nobody knows how far the cartels will go for the issue. And, speaking from my knowledge, what about the massive amounts of people in the US, who deal drugs? In a sad sense, that is their job. They'd be jobless.

 

Think the Mexican illegals are grateful there is a place of refugee for them in this great country, right accross their border where a better life can be sought with freedom. "Thank You G-d for the USA", Davey Crockett, Jim Bowie and the brave defenders of the Alamo.
The only way to get rid of the Drug Cartels, Drug Wars and Drug murdering is to legalize, tax and regulate "DRUGS".

 

People illegally moving through Mexico would be lucky if they only get shot; women for instance are very likely to get raped in Mexico (about 60% of all women being smuggled through Mexico into the United States are extremely likely to get raped by their coyotes).

 

Illegal Mexican aliens are just like illegal Israeli settlers. They are colonists who don't belong.

 

There are ways of solving the drug problem. The Chinese Communist Party used an incentive system to get Chinese people to abandon drugs.
