Mexican troops cross into the United States at Bridge Two

A convoy of three military trucks loaded with Mexican soldiers crosses the border at Bridge Number Two clearly violating international law.

It happens as Customs and Border Protection inspectors try to figure out what to do.

A CBP spokesperson says they got on the phone with Mexican authorities after being alerted that the military trucks were heading their direction loaded down with soldiers and weapons.

Mexican leaders say the soldiers, who had just been deployed to Nuevo Laredo, didn't know the area, got lost and then made their way through Bridge Two.

It's important to note that CBP did not tell us about the potentially serious situation. It came from another law enforcement agency.

Some callers to our newsroom were upset inspectors allowed the Mexican military to get so close to all those inspection booths over at Bridge Number Two.

Some noted had it been Mexican drug lords they could have taken inspectors by surprise and easily crossed the international border deeper into the United States.

Can these Mexicans not read?? Did the driver not see that he was approaching the Texas border?? He must have known that the border was they somewhere?

Let's remember that many of these so called soldiers work for the drug gangs. This may have been a test run as far as we know. Hell it may have been terrorists planning to rush across the border and get us in a war with Mexico.

There is no excuse for our people letting this happen....

 

May have been a test run... may have been terrorists... or... it may have been some guys that got lost, which is what available info points to... speculation causes nothing but problems, and usually ends up making people look stupid in the end...

 

I see it as another sign of the increasing chaos on the border, and I am critical of our useless president.

Seriously "who cares?" really should apply here. It was clearly a mistake. It's not like Mexico is going to go to war with us or anything. Making a huge deal about it would be a waste. It's not like they came here and started killing Americans.

There's no point in making this a huge international incident when it was clearly just a stupid mistake done by a few idiots.

 

Ah, he's the president, the situation on the Mexican border has gotten far worse, the BP has been limited to firing bean bag rounds, and Holder's ATF allowed the catels to get assault rifles- one of which was used to murder a BP agent, wouldn't you say he deserves some criticism?

this shows how unguarded our border is that they can just wonder in, its to bad that for people to learn something similar to 9-11 is going to have to happen for people to wake up to the mexican invasion.

 

Well, I for one think we should insist that he send 6000 National Guard troops there to act in an "advisory capacity" - not permitted to use weapons or arrest illegal immigrants coming over the border. When they see somebody, they can just call the BP and wait for them to get there in an hour or two - by which time the illegal immigrants are long gone into the country. And they aren't allowed to use their guns at all - not even beanbags.

 

The only way to effect change is either embarrass the Government into it, or continually pin the tail on the Donkey till we get someone who will. It's not personal.

 

Considering Mexico is nominally our ally it is good that we show restraint. That way if our soldiers cross over by mistake they can show the same restraint.

 

I never blindly support anyone... and it seems to me that the immigration situation is just as bad as it has been... it's long since needed something useful to be done...

Eventually someone will... I hope...

 

Mexicans are special people with special privileges. They can come and go where ever they want. The world is their oyster. Americans are subordinate to Mexicans because Mexicans are so very special.

It's not uncommon around the world for soldiers to accidentally cross borders. A few years ago a large number of soldiers in Europe (can't remember the countries involved, but the one crossed into doesn't even have a military) crossed a border because someone in charge failed at map reading.

Back in 1999 or 2000 some Australian soldiers accidentally crossed into Indonesia because the Australian maps showed the border in a different place to what the Indonesians claimed. The Australians thought they were just outside of Indonesia whereas the Indonesians saw them as 1km inside Indonesia's borders. In that event though the Indonesians opened fire rather than tell the Australian soldiers of their mistake. The Australian soldiers fired back. Some Indonesia soldiers died before the whole thing was worked out. This was also no doubt Obama's fault.
