    The Normans were not Vikings, they were descendents of Viking settlers who eventually adopted and settled into French culture and intermarried with the French.

    So, I guess the French defeated the former French in 1204.

    Do you even know who the Vikings were? The term "Viking" refers to people who raided by sea. All Danes, Norwegians, and Swedes of the Viking Era were NOT Vikings. What is known as the Viking Era ended well before 1204. The Normans did not sail around on longboats raiding. They were the descendants of Vikings that settled and merged with the French.

    The only thing I understand is that you need a history lesson. Vikings were Vikings, Normans were not Vikings.

    All you mean is that the Norman Vikings did not run around in boats like normal Vikings killing people.

    Until they figured they could. Like invading Sicily and England. When they ran round in boats killing people.

    That's not what the term means. You have to be Norse (Scandinavian) explorers, warriors, merchants, or pirates who raided, traded, or explored to be a Viking of that time period.

    Read it better.

    Nothing in that sentence says you had to be all of those or even a raider and rampage. Vikings were also explorers and merchants who traded and explored. Heck, look at the word "or" and notice how I didn't say "and".

    Your response is once again ignoring what's in front of your face.

    They stare into chapeaus from whence they say they receive enlightenment not received in a thousand years of, admittedly hatless, human history.

    They wear undies that protect them from I know not what.

    Does no-one see that such behaviours are extremely weird?

    A Viking was a sea raider. Viking was like a profession. To "go viking" meant to go raiding by sea. Some Vikings settled in France and eventually married French women and adopted French culture. The Normans were descendants of these people and the native Franks. The Vikings that originally settled in France were long gone by the time the Normans invaded England. The Normans were not Vikings.

    I don't understand what you're not getting. I tried to explain it so that even a child could understand. If you're just looking for an argument, look somewhere else.

    Christians and jews believe in TALKING SNAKES. Really, I doubt either person 100% beleives their religion, just is a trait passed on by family. No biggie

    Already terribly wrong. Tons of Christians don't take everything in the Bible literally. Saying they believe in that, while some do, is a huge generalization.

    So, by your definition the raiders from Polynesia were Vikings - simply because they predated by sea?

    And Vikings left no descendents? They suddenly stopped because they did not raid?
