Well the ones we used to get were very agitated when you didn't comply with their sales pitch. Even had a few who would tell you straight faced you were going to hell for being to busy to listen to their drivel.

Bigotry (as expressed above) is a big problem in this society.

What I want is someone who can do the job. As far as a person's faith, color, or gender goes, I just don't care. Get someone who will do the job right. Anyone who let's those things get in the way of a potentially good president or candidate has some personal issues that they need to take care of themselves.

    [edit]LDS Humanitarian Initiatives

Emergency Response is the part of the LDS Church’s humanitarian efforts of which most people are aware. Funds and supplies in this area are used to help victims of natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods, droughts, tornadoes, and hurricanes, as well as other disasters such as wars or political unrest. Supplies in this area are gathered and stored before a crisis so supplies can be sent literally within hours of an emergency. Volunteers are also on call so if they are needed they can be reached and organized within a few hours. The LDS Church is renowned for its ability to organize its members in various regions of the world to respond to emergency and facilitate distributing goods immediately after a crisis, often before aid programs such as the Red Cross or the Salvation Army come to assist. In 2008, the LDS Church responded to 124 disasters in 48 countries.[2]
Wheelchair Distribution is another program of the LDS Church crucial to helping those in need. Studies estimate that only one percent of the disabled in the world have wheelchairs. For the rest, being without a wheelchair means for adults that they can not provide for themselves or their families, and for children it often means not being able to attend school. By providing wheelchairs to those in need, the LDS Church hopes to help people become more self-reliant which is an important tenant of LDS beliefs.[3]
The Clean Water Service provides clean water and wells to people who otherwise would most likely contract deadly diseases because of the dirty water. It is estimated that one billion people lack clean water. The clean water program is designed to partner with local community agencies to provide sustainable clean water.[4]
The Neonatal Resuscitation program sends doctors and volunteers to areas where infant mortality rate is high. They are able to teach people in the area how to resuscitate newborns as well as provide simple medical equipment. This service is greatly needed as it is estimated that nearly 1 million newborns die each year due to birth difficulties. Up to 10% of newborns have breathing difficulties.[5]
The Vision Treatment Training program teaches facilities and medical personnel in developing countries how to treat preventable or reversible blindness. There are 37 million people in the world who are blind, and up to 75(*)% of blindness is treatable. The vision care program works with local vision health care centers to help treat and prevent blindness for the poor.[6]
In addition to these efforts, the LDS Church also has over 300 job development and placement centers around the world. In 2001, the LDS Church began the Perpetual Education Fund which provides money to cover tuition and other school expenses to people in developing nations. As of 2007, tens of thousands of individuals had been given assistance. So far this program has operated primarily in South America and Oceana. The LDS Church has also begun producing a nutrition-rich porridge named Atmit to help during acute famines. The LDS Church Welfare program owns farms, ranches, canneries, and other food producing facilities to provide temporary food relief for families and individuals. LDS Humanitarian Services frequently works with other charities and NGOs such as the Red Cross, Catholic charities and even various Islamic charities for which the LDS Church has produced halaal food.

We know that, however we must begin the painting into a corner: so, let's insist on knowing Awlry's religion and see how strong his case is.

You mean like the actual bigots (Mormons) that refer to people of color as the mud people?

Mine is a warning, just like posting a beware of dog on a fence to keep people aware.

I lived around them for years, if you had the experiences with them the way I did, you would offer a warning about their "ways" yourself.

Just in what I have read so far, I would bet my behind he/she is an atheist. They tend to be very angry and feel the need to try and constantly put down others.

    You are very correct, Bluespade.

The very same arguments were used against John Kennedy in 1960 because he was a Catholic.

Don’t vote for John Kennedy. He will answer to the Catholic Pope before he answers to the American people!"

You already offered everything wiki had to offer??

They are no different than most religions. They all (Churches) have their pet projects to keep the money flowing in, and prove their worthiness for a tax exempt status. They also financed gangsters to start Vegas and have a big percentage of the profits sent to them to this day. They also condemn the use of caffeine and alcohol but own major stocks in companies that sell these items. Wouldn't that make them hypocrites of the highest caliber??

I could tell you some stories about them Mormons, but the best advise I could offer is if a Mormon points away from you to get your attention looking away, it's so they can get a better angle at stabbing you in the back. They are darn sure good at that.

The only thing an Apache was scared of in the 19th century (and still today in areas where Mormons dominate), was a Mormon.

All of the Mormons I've ever met seemed like very nice people. I liked them, though I couldn't help but make fun of the magic underwear.

Funny story: I dated a Mormon girl once, and apparently that was enough for her to be threatened with being cast out of their church. I'm still not sure what was so wrong with me.

You agreed to meet her parents. Plus the fact you have no magic underwear of your own.

They are extremely family oriented as long as you are a Mormon. If not then that family thingy becomes a very gray area.

Ok, all you did was offered up blah blah blah as a retort once I offered proof of their charities. Their charities help people point blank.

I'm guess you don't do Jack (*)(*)(*)(*) to help other people out, and yet you criticize them and their charities, wouldn't that make you a hypocrite of the highest caliber?

Oh by the way, your first hand accounts of your experiences with mormons if you really had any, mean (*)(*)(*)(*) to me.

A Mormon is the same as any other organized religion, and as such, I don' fear them at all.

I will not support Romney because he's not a Conservative. His religion is not a deciding factor for me.

Romney or Huntsman are the only two Republicans I would think of voting for.

Doesn't the CIA have a lot of Mormons? I read that somewhere ... could have just been a conspiracy theory, though.

Anyway, I don't see a person's religion as being an important factor in whether or not they could be a capable president.

I mean, chances are, we're going to be run by Satanists anyway, since we'll only be presented with materialists as options and materialism is the essence of Satanism.

So, yeah. Bring on the Mormons. Should be a hoot.

    The exact opposite.

    Completely.

You aren't asking the right questions. I didn't say it was all bad. I said it was a racist disingenuous cult. I guess so long as they are polite about it that works for you.

    Uh huh.

let's reduce this to terms you can understand.

if your ruby team goes to Sydney and gets lucky at the hotel bar, then their offspring get beaten bloody playing soccer, did your rugby team lose?

no! because it was half-blood descendants playing a different game.

That's cool..but..what about the fact he is loyal to his religion..that mean anything to you as a conservative ?.
Then why do you feel he's not conservative enough ?

If not for religion..which is why the far right always say it is religion.
    Gay MARRIAGE?
    Gun control ?
    Abortion?

Or creating wealth from the private sector instead of demanding GOVERNMENT TAKE from THE PRIVATE SECTOR.

Name the non religious conservative principle Romney does not cover.

I am willing to bet a nickel that it is social..not governmental.
