We know why the right hates unions so much.

I favor unions as a natural part of a free market.

But sabotaging US infrastructure is... an attack on the US.

Office workers, burger flippers, grocery store baggers, etc don't need unions. Since that are the only jobs that are, or will be available to the uneducated, why WOULDN'T their wages drop over time?

You are just showing a minor, ignorable effect of Globalization. Prices have dropped just as much for most consumer products. Most Americans can still afford the products they make. So what's the big deal?

Unions have converted from representation for the working man to representation of union management purely in the game because of greed.

It is no longer about fairness, just about money and destroying the corporation in the process. If I owned any business that tried to unionize I would close it and move it.

Agreed, anyone who destroys, the property of others is a criminal, pure and simple, those who condones these cowardly acts are no better.

You want to tell that to the people the stockyards in Chicago would take in with the promise of good wages, only to be put to work cleaning out sheeps wool with acid, with no gloves, and once your fingers were near burned away after a few years they would throw you out onto the street a broken man, with 5 more ready to take your place?

We get rid of unions were going to head right back to that type of (*)(*)(*)(*).

How do you figure when we have laws on the books? You think those laws are going to just magically disappear?

You think OSHA is just going to magically disappear?

No one is talking about getting rid of unions in the private sector. We (*)(*)(*)(*) well know Steel workers and Miners need unions.

What we want is Unions out of Government. There is no business for a Union in Government Service. None whatsoever. Government has no profit motive, Government can't screw it's employees over. Government has rules that prevent it for overworking it's people, etc..

A Union in the Government is a device for laundering taxpayer money for political redirection. That is all it is. Why can't you admit that? You don't give a (*)(*)(*)(*) about "worker's rights" for these people. You are scared to death the primary funding device of your political party, a corrupt and evil mechanism, is about to be destroyed.

Wisconsin proved it last night. The People want Government unions brought to heel.

I can see your point on that, but there are some people in this thread who actually think that ALL unions should be done away with. A ludicrous philosophy that relies on corporations not having to be forced to be ethical (lol).

Well why wouldn't they be angry?

Boeing is a company that by all standards treats it's employees wonderfully. They have great benefits and pay, and Boeing added 2000 jobs recently to their payroll at their main plant in Washington.

But it isn't good enough. Every 3 years, every 3 years on the dot, the union strikes like clockwork as if they are being terribly exploited. This costs boeing BILLIONS of dollars and causes them to lose customers to Airbus.

So, Boeing which is desperate to get it's Dreamliner in production quickly, efficiently and with no delays.. cannot afford another union strike by over indulged workers. If the Dreamliner doesn't sell, Boeing will go broke.

It is absolutely CRITICAL that no slowdowns or stoppages occur on the Dreamliner factory lines.

So they decided to build some of them in South Carolina with non-union labor so that if the the Washington Employees struck, then the dream liner could continue production and still meet contracts in case of strike. That is a reasonable business decision.

So what does the Federal Government do? Force Boeing into an extortion situation by saying they cannot build the dreamliner in South Carolina putting thousands of jobs in that state at risk, putting the companies finances at risk, and putting the companies customer base at risk.

That is the definition of insanity.

Only occupations that have a proven danger to life and limb on a daily basis should be provided the protection of a union. Cushy jobs, where people primarily work in offices where they can't be physically harmed in thier occupational duties should not be unionized. It's an unnecessary inefficiency in a world that absolutely crushes the inefficient to dust.

The working Americans you are referring to are on strike and vandalizing their employer. Strike, that's their right. Vandalizing is a crime. So unless you support criminal behavior you would also condemn such acts. Pretty simple.

    Liberals: unions are outdated.

We can't go back to pre-union wages. Every state now has labor laws, which make the union nothin more then overkill. They have effectively become nothing more then a middleman for the DNC coffers. A point of money collection.

The labor laws of each state are all that is needed anymore.

An incredibly stupid statement but the government won't stay out anyway. The unions don't pay millions for nothing. If the government would just listen to the voters, who don't want unions, it would help but the government has been bought and paid for and not students in schools, workers, or poor customers can sway the politicians. Millions more to be made.

Oh, and Landru, get a dictionary is a spell checker defeats you. I'm assuming it's "government" you were trying to type.

**********s is an objectionable term but I suspect you know that.

For liberals damaging private property is called "protesting". Threatening people is called "protesting". Assaulting people is called "protesting". In the real world it's called extortion and is punishable in court but of course those big corporati8ons like SEIU, AFL-CIO have bought and paid for government protection and AFSCME and FOP have unionized the police so they can escort and protect the extortionist thugs while they terrorize a 14-year old boy.

You might consider yourself a proud progressive but any way you look at it you should be ashamed of yourself.

    Some more information.

"It’s only been a few days since 45,000 CWA and IBEW members walked off their jobs at Verizon, however, incidents of harassment, sabotage, and illegal picketing have already begun to pile up."
    http://biggovernment.com/laborunion...vernment+(Big+Government)&utm_content=Twitter

"Separately, the union militants have posted a ‘scab list,’ identifying individuals who have crossed the unions’ picket lines, as well as a company boycott list.

On Monday, Verizon issued a press release, detailing several incidents of sabotage (including fiber-optic lines being cut in several states) and offering a $50,000 reward for “information leading to the arrest and prosecution of individuals that intentionally damage Verizon cables or facilities or cause or attempt to cause physical injury to any Verizon employee or contractor.”

And then there is the comic relief:
"In the meantime, while the CWA issued a statement stating that the union does not condone illegal actions, the actions of the union militants are beginning to resemble the 2000 strike with its 455 incidents of sabotage, vandalism and harassment."

I'll bet that CWA statement got a lot of laughs from the thugs. They know it's bogus and they have the full support of the union.

Laws can be changed, and if the unions are gone who is going to fund opposition to corporate backed politicians who will change those laws?

I thought you were for armed men on the streets fighting for their freedom?

Oh, I get it, you only want your brownshirted shocktroops armed.

Isn't working out that way, eh?

A Second Amendment Solution. I love it.

Yeah. I have absolutely no doubt that the next target by the anti-worker right-wing would in fact be those "pesky" and "inconvenient" laws protecting workers.

    That's how these corporatists work.
