The Tea Party wants lower taxes, that much I acknowledge. But so does pretty much everyone. That doesn't make them libertarians.

I am fully aware of what their "mandate" is. The problem is, when push comes to shove, their "mandate" isn't worth the paper it's printed on. I judge politicians and parties by their actions, not their "mandates".

I attack the Tea Party (and the GOP as a whole) MORE, because they are passing off their core principles as being libertarian in some senses, while in reality they push for lower taxes, but more government in almost every other area. At least I can understand that Democrats want what they want. Someone who lies to be my friend is more harmful to me than someone who tells the truth even though they know I disagree.

Real libertarians have bigger fish to fry. Like, for example, the $100 trillion in unfunded liabilities caused by the unconstitutional Social Security and Medicare systems. But I notice you didn't quote those posts, where i attack those systems, because you can't use them to prop up your lengthy personal attacks.

Nationalism comes in many forms, and every country has varying levels of it.

If you think the freaking out happening in this thread is bad, you should see how the nationalists of India acted when Sania Mirza was at some event with her feet pointed toward her nation's flag. Her career practically ended that night, and she received several death threats despite just previously having enjoyed being the tennis superstar of her homeland.

So, we're not as bad as India about this at least... Granted, I guess some here would probably consider India to be "better" than us for being even more absurdly nationalist.

Take pride in your country and family, but don't feign outrage when the source of it stems from various other things. This is just a perfect example of people looking for a reason to complain.
